A question about homes in Denver or Colo Springs

There is a small chance that we maybe relocating to the Denver area. I have been looking at homes in the area and Colorado Springs.

I just want to cry when I see the price of these homes compared to the square footage. I would be getting a smaller house than what I have now for twice the price.

Anyway, back to my question. When the house lists the square footage, does that include the basement? We don't have them here, so I don't know.

In most cases the listing does not include the square footage of the basement unless it is a walk out. We have a finished basement which adds an extra 800 square feet to our total square footage. Good luck with your house hunt! Let me know if I can help.

What is a walk out?

We were told that if he wants the job it's his but we just aren't sure. We really enjoy the area we are in now.

Is there an area that I should avoid concerning School districts? We need something that is challenging but not to "rich" feeling? I hope that I explained myself. We are not buying them cars and such when they turn 16. I have seem that attitude in a few areas in N TX.

A walk out is where the basement actually opens up to the outside thru a regular door.

Where exactly is your husband's job offer. We live south of downtown Denver and about 45 minutes north of Colorado Springs. We have excellent schools that the kids definately find challenging. I think I understand what you mean and there are areas like that but not all. Feel free to pm or email me if you want.
