There is still one aspect of the ddp that I am confused about. Hopefully someone knows what I mean..
Specifically...
I know that there are adult credits and child credits. 3 people in our party will be adults. Are those pooled credits or must they be used by the specific person in the room?
For example.... dd and I will be having two table service meals where DH will not be joining us. Are we able to use his table service credit.. or will he just have an extra one at the end of the week?

I think that explains what I mean... I have no idea why this is confusing me so much. I think I have planning overload:confused3

Table Service Credits are pooled, Counter Service Credits are not. If your husband does not use one of his table service credits, then yes, he would have an extra one at the end of the week.

I have not used the DP in a couple of years but I have done a lot of reading on these boards. TS credits are separated Adult and Child but are not assigned to a specific person. So, from many and many posts that I have read, one adult can use another adult's TS credit, as long as they are in the same party (ie room). One child can use another child's TS credit as long as they are in the same party. CS credits are pooled and are not separated adult from child.

Again, I know things have changed since I used DP last, but since we are using in on our trip this fall, I have done a lot of reading on it. The info above is info gathered from reading a lot of posts.

CS pooled. TS is split by child credits and adult credits. so if you are going 2 nights with 2 adults and one child your credits would be :

CS- 6 credits
TS- 4 adult credits and 2 child credits

Hope that helps. :thumbsup2 .It will be listed that way when you check in and I know you are prob going for more days. Just trying to keep the math simple.

First time on Dinning Plan as well first trip to WDW. I will be at WDW for 6 nights and 7 days with my 2yr old and I am aware he will not have any credits.I should have a total of 6 TS, 6 CS, 6 Snacks, Will I be able to use them the way I feel fit? Ex could I use 3 TS in one day for brkfst, lunch, and dinner, Then the next day use 2 CS, and 2 Snack Credits? Or will I have to use 1 TS, 1 Cs, and 1 Snack a day, Just would like to know before heading to WDW, would hate to have to come out of pocket if I choose to eat at 2 TS in one day! Kimmie

You can use them on any day you choose. They expire at midnight the day you check out.

You have the idea. You can use them anyway you see fit. If you would like use all your TS's in one day you are able. I can think of one day we used 2 CS's one day and ate at 2 different TS's one day (breakfast and dinner for us). SAme with SC's some days we didn't get any some days we would load up. No problems. You prob already know your 2 yo eats for free at buffets (can make his own plate there) and he can eat off your plate everywhere else. We are taking our 2 yo back this year and with all the food I really doubt we have to pay OOP for him more than 1 or 2 x's if that. Side note we brought individual packages of cookies and crackers and pulled them out before we had a major meltdown and major perk is I didn't have to stand in line for them. Security guard joked one day he had to confiscate them for his lunch. LOL :rotfl:

Thanks gang... between this post and an email to my T.A. I think I have it figured out:rotfl2:
This stuff is complicated.

Yes, as PP have said, TS are pooled by adult and then also by child. CS are all pooled together. We've used DDP 4 times now and at the beginning all the TS were pooled together with no difference between A & K. As you can imagine, there were peolpe who would use what should have been a kid TS for an adult meal. Disney has taken care of that possibility. But your credits are clearly shown on your receipt so you won't have any questions.

One tip-always check your receipt (TS, CS, & SC) to make sure there are no mistakes. It's easier to correct a mistake if you catch it right away. But, even if you don't, it can still be handled later. (we only had a mistake on TS twice-once we caught immeadiately-the other time it was a few hours later. The concierege was able to straighten it out the next a.m. :goodvibes ). The mistakes seem to happen mostly when you pay OOP for a meal or something else.

So just to clarify - if we have 3 adults and 1 child in our party - and only 1 counter service left each - we can order 4 adult counter service meals? Those are not broken down into kids and adults, just listed as 4 counter services for each day of our stay?

Yes. They are listed as 4 CS. Not broken down. You are supposed to order 3 adults and 1 child but there is no breakdown.

I just read on another thread that this was against DDP policy. Sorry, I didn't realize there was a policy on this - I just thought it was how it was set up. But I know a friend of mine was told about this by a CM - so I guess there's a lot of confusion about how it works.

How do you find out about the policies? Will we get info in the mail?
