Hey everyone. I have a couple of questions regarding crushed stone pathways I was hoping to get answered. On the side of my garage, there's an area that has talll trees and large bushes that keeps it shaded and obscured from the street. My wife and I both love musicals, and while listening to The Secret Garden, she came up with the idea of turning that area into our own little "Secret Garden." I thought it was a great idea and started coming up with ideas. Well, there's already a path that people walk on when getting back to that area. So I thought of taking crushed stone and creating a walkway along that natural pathway (taking care to dig a proper path and line the it with heavy rubber to keep the weeds at bay). Then I was going to take some kind of flat stone and create a stone "Patio" area where I can put a bench. Then in the one spot that does get sun, I was going to plant some flowers. But my question is, how much (and I know this is going to be different from area to area, so a general idea is all I need) is crushed stone and how do I pay for it, by the pound, square foot, what? Has anyone here ever done a crushed stone path? I know it's a lot of work but I can't wait to dig in and get going on it. Thanks everyone.
ETA: Before I forget, I'll most likey be stepping away from my computer at some point, but I'll try and get back to answer any questions when I can.

We have one leading to our front porch, and it can be a little bit of a pain to keep leaf-free because there are two oaks that overhang it.
