If a recipe calls for olive oil, can I substitute it for vegetable oil?

Will it make a huge difference or not really?

Thanks!

It depends on the recipe. And the amount of olive oil called for. Generally, it won't be a huge deal. Flavors might be "off."

If it is for a salad dressing you may give up flavor, if it is in baking I often substitute any oil with applesauce and have had great resluts with taste and texture results. I found this out with my pancakes. Did not have any oil and used applesauce, YUMMO!

If you are not going to have easy access to EVO, then use what you have and don;t fret. If you are going to the store before the cooking, then pick up a small bottle.

I tend to use a lot of EVO and watch for buys and sales. I love it for salads, and homemade SUBs.
I admit it I watch way too much food network!
