I called from Australia last week and made all our PS for our visit in May. On a Wednesday (which i believe is not a MM day) we have a PS for breakfast at the Carnation Cafe which i was given 8am, looking at the park hours DL does not open till 10am.

I really don't want to waste a phone call to call back and confirm but does that sound right? i know it wont take us 2 hours to eat breakfast, is this what they normally do?

I can't speak for CC, but last year I tried to book Minnie and Friends before the park opened (by mistake) and they told me I couldn't be seated until the time the park opened :confused3

What day specifically are you looking at. I myself have had PS for 1 hr before the park opened at various DW restaurants, and have read that Carnation and Minnie's also open 1 hr early at DL when the park opens late (like at 10). But I have not heard of 2 hours. I would probably call back if it were me, unless someone else on here can confirm that they do do 2 hrs ahead.

I loved getting into the park before it opens to the public. It is so amazing. 2 hrs is a little long though at Carnation, if it were at Minnie's with characters, then I think you could take up 2 hrs.

Main Street opens before the rest of the park on days when the park opens late (I think at 9, but I could be wrong). Since CC is on Main Street, it should be open before 10, as all of the stores on Main Street are. I wouldn't sweat it, and if you still are nervous, then talk to the hostess on duty at CC or guest services the day you arrive.

Thanks all.

We arrive on the Sunday so i think i'lll just stop by and check the day before.

I can only hope that they change the opening hours to 9am then that would make sense and be even better :cool1:

We had no problem getting last minute PS for Carnation Cafe. We ate there so many times on our 14 night trip. Some days we would decide on lunch and just call and make the booking for half an hour later then just walk straight in and there were queues of people waiting for a table.

I highly recommend going for lunch or dinner too. The loaded potato soup is SO good!

Thanks Aussietraveller, i have PS for both Minnies and Carnation Cafe and they are both 2 hrs before the park opens (ie. 8am and the park opens at 10am)

Hubby wants me to call back Wednesday and confirm/change if needed, i think hes worried about missing out but i'll let him know you had no problems

Are you sure the park opens at 10 in May? When in May? When we've gone in May and the hours were 9 or 8 am. :)

For those who are interested i called Disney Dining and apparently they are opening at 10am that week (2nd week in May) like the website says.

My PS for CC and for Minnies were changed i don't know how i was supposed to know but lucky i called.

I was told my Minnies seating was now 9.10am and my CC one was now 10am, i was told that was the earliest

That is great news! Lucky you called, although I guess you would have found out when you turned up and they said come back later, then would have had to wander around for an hour :rotfl:

Have a fantastic time! They are both great spots to eat, you will have a wonderful holiday.
