a question about base tickets

Can someone tell me if you just get a 4 or 5 base ticket (with no hopping added) can you leave (example) Magic Kingdom in the early afternoon and return to the Magic Kingdom later on in the evening? Do they give you a stamp or something when you leave the park so that you can return? I know that you can't return to another park, but was wondering if you can return to the same park?

Yes, you can return to the same park on the same day. They don't do the hand stamps anymore. Now they do the "2 fingers" thing. You put your fingers on it and squeeze. We didn't have any problems using this while we were there last week.
