Warning - long post....sorry!

I am hoping my DIS friends can help as I am lost with this new Disney rule of ADRs 90 days plus 10. Let me explain.

My daughter and I are celebrating "A countdown to Kindergarten" (I know it is a little goofy, but we celebrate when we can!) and we are doing this with a three night cruise followed by our annual summer vacation.

We arrive at Disney on July 7th and are staying DVC, we then go on the cruise from the 9th-12th. My DH and DS arrive on the 12th for the rest of our vacation at the Beach club. Today my 90 day window opened for arrival on the 7th. Yesterday, member services told me that I can't book any more than the 7-9th for ADRs as they will check to see when I am checking out so I will need to wait another week to book for our Beach club stay.

My question is, what would happen if I was staying off property? Can't people who are staying off make ADRs 90 days out as well?

Couldn't I say I was staying off in between and still book? I am not looking to be dishonest or start a debate about this and the morality of being truthful, I am just wondering how they police this??

I will make my ADRs for when my DD and I are there and then wait to make the others as I follow the rules but I have had this nagging feeling since yesterday about how could this possibly be handled?

To be honest, it gets me thinking about our Christmas trip. We are not arriving until the 27th, yet the rest of my family is coming earlier. Could they make ADRs for all of us? Or, what is to stop a less honest person from saying they are staying off property before Christmas just to get those desired reservations?

Am I making any sense??

Maybe I am missing something (which would not be the first time, I am sure) but it seems like a bog loop hole.

What do you all think???

If I am reading this correctly.....the 90 + 10 thing is so that guests dont have to keep calling back and can bok their entire vacation on that first phone call.

As you are checking in on the 7th and out on the 9th, thats when your first stay ends.

Your 90 day mark for the rest of your vacation starts in the 12th when you check back in. You should be able to make all of your remaining ADRs on the 12 isong the 90 + 10 rule.

Disney sees this as two seperate stays and not one stay with a cruise in the middle.

Even though WDW and DCL are part of the same company, their computers do not recognize each other. You know those Disney computers....

I hope this helps.

The booking window for non-resort guests opens up at 90 days as well...but they can only do one day at a time, whereas resort guests can call at the 90 day mark and make reservations for their entire stay during the same call, for up to 10 days following. In your case, since your first reservation is only for 2 nights, that's all you can make dining reservations for.

That said, I was able to do my 90+10 for the podcast cruise just using my first stay. You would think a good CM would notice that and take care of you since your cruising Disney.

I KNEW I was missing something!!!

SO if you are off site, you do not have the plus 10 thing! I got it!

Kevin, yeah those computers are pesky...it amazes me the technology they can build yet they can't get one computer to talk to another!

I was more concerned about our Christmas stay and the thought that others could book ahead even though they are not there. (Although I hear my own Assistant Principal words in my head, "Don't be concerned with what others are doing..")

I am more than happy to wait for the longer stay beginning on the 12th, I just felt like there was a piece missing. Thank you both for the help!!

Kevin is 100% correct in this (even though it is highly annoying). I had a similar issue when I tried to book a DVC villa for a future trip. I had to be waitlisted for the one day smack dab in the middle of my vacation wasn't available. This meant that I had to book one reservation as a back up at AKLV, one for the first few days at BLT (where we want to stay), waitlist the one day in the middle, and then another ressie for the remaining days at BLT. Because I was "just outside the booking window," as MS put it, I had to call back the next day to do the second ressie for BLT. It was so annoying, but I got it despite the stress!
