OK I'm going to give this a shot. I've never done one so please bare with me.
My husband and I started planning a DW trip last summer. Our original plan was to go over spring break this year. We have 4 kids. Our only princess 15 and 3 princes ages 13, 7, and 5. We planned for 5 days and 4 nights. Hubby started researching and planning. Then in Sept we got hit with the worst news of our lives.
Our baby prince, age 5, was diagnosed with a stroke in utero when he was a baby. In Aug we had a follow up MRI done to check the progress of the strokeand make sure the area was healing correctly. Sept 8th the Dr called and informed us that his stroke was misdiagnosed, but they found a tumor in his cerebellum. So now we decided to put Disney on hold and focus on our little prince.
His Dr wanted to wait and do another MRI in 3 months. We decided to get a second opinion and started calling around to get another MRI done sooner. We found a Dr over an hr away that was willing to see us that day. He referred us to another Dr to order the MRI and we traveled over 2 hrs. for a new MRI. By this time we had been accepted into Md. Anderson. After his second MRI we went back to Md. Anderson with the results and were told that we needed to run more tests, but we should be prepared because we may have to start chemo.
So we did a number of different tests and another MRI in Jan. With that MRI we learned the tumor was stable and no chemo was necessary.
Best news ever. So we told our prince to celebrate no chemo we would go to Disney World this summer. We pushed back the date due to time for planning.
So we called our travel agent and booked 6 days and 5 nights. We started making our reservations and decided to get the dining plan. Soon after that, we got the free dining plan pin. So we made more changes. We are now up to a 9 day, 8 night stay at POP. Our dates are June 4th-June 11.
We have ADRs for every night and Weds night is our down day and date night for hubby and I, we are doing Spirit of Aloha. While there the 2 youngest will be at Neverland and the older 2 will hang out at the hotel. We have 2 character breakfasts booked.
Thanks for reading this far!
