OK I'm going to give this a shot. I've never done one so please bare with me. :)

My husband and I started planning a DW trip last summer. Our original plan was to go over spring break this year. We have 4 kids. Our only princess 15 and 3 princes ages 13, 7, and 5. We planned for 5 days and 4 nights. Hubby started researching and planning. Then in Sept we got hit with the worst news of our lives.

Our baby prince, age 5, was diagnosed with a stroke in utero when he was a baby. In Aug we had a follow up MRI done to check the progress of the strokeand make sure the area was healing correctly. Sept 8th the Dr called and informed us that his stroke was misdiagnosed, but they found a tumor in his cerebellum. So now we decided to put Disney on hold and focus on our little prince.

His Dr wanted to wait and do another MRI in 3 months. We decided to get a second opinion and started calling around to get another MRI done sooner. We found a Dr over an hr away that was willing to see us that day. He referred us to another Dr to order the MRI and we traveled over 2 hrs. for a new MRI. By this time we had been accepted into Md. Anderson. After his second MRI we went back to Md. Anderson with the results and were told that we needed to run more tests, but we should be prepared because we may have to start chemo.

So we did a number of different tests and another MRI in Jan. With that MRI we learned the tumor was stable and no chemo was necessary. Best news ever. So we told our prince to celebrate no chemo we would go to Disney World this summer. We pushed back the date due to time for planning.

So we called our travel agent and booked 6 days and 5 nights. We started making our reservations and decided to get the dining plan. Soon after that, we got the free dining plan pin. So we made more changes. We are now up to a 9 day, 8 night stay at POP. Our dates are June 4th-June 11.

We have ADRs for every night and Weds night is our down day and date night for hubby and I, we are doing Spirit of Aloha. While there the 2 youngest will be at Neverland and the older 2 will hang out at the hotel. We have 2 character breakfasts booked.

Thanks for reading this far!

So sorry to hear about your son going through so much. Very glad to hear that his tumor is stable and he will not need chemo. That is definitely reason to celebrate. Happy planning! Cannot wait to hear more. :goodvibes

So here's our plan so far:
Kids get out of school June 2nd early. Our plan is to pick prince #2 up from school about 2 hrs before dismissal. The older 2 must finish their last day since they are in Jr. High and High school and both will have tests all day long. But since it's a half day we can still get on the road early. We will pick them up after we get their brother. We should be on the road by 12. The older 3 will eat lunch in the car and we will feed our youngest prince before we leave. This will save us time. If we waited for everyone to get out of school we wouldn't be able to leave until after 1.
We will go as far as we can on Thur night, so not sure where we will stay. Then we will get up as early as we can Fri morning to make it the rest of the way. We would love to check into POP around lunch time. We will have lunch either on the way or eat once we get there.

After we check into the hotel. Hubby will go to the room (if it's ready) to rest since he will be doing all the driving. And the princess, princes, and I will head to the pool. After a few hrs in the pool we will head over to do mini golf. Not sure which one yet we're still debating. Then after mini golf we will head over to DTD for shopping and a QS dinner.

Sat morning we will get up nice and early and make it to HS for rope drop. The 3 princes will be doing all things Star Wars while the princess will do AI. I will stay with the princess while hubby takes the princes to do Star Wars. We have an ADR for Sci Fi at 6:30PM. Hopefully we will still get a few shows in and a few rides.

Sunday will be our first day at MK. Once again we want to make RD. We will spend the day riding rides, going to shows, meeting characters and just having fun. Our ADR is at Cape May at 6:45. After dinner we will drop the kids off at the hotel and hubby and I will go to late EMHs. Not sure how late we will stay but I want to stay as long as we can. Anyway who needs sleep when you’re at Disneyworld?

Monday we will have breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at 8:30. Then after a fun breakfast we will head to Epcot. I hope to meet Mary Poppins while there. I think our young 2 princes would like to ask her to be their nanny :). Our princess loves Japan so our ADR for dinner will be Teppan Edo at 7:50. Then after dinner we will head back to the hotel, unless we have time to watch Illuminations. Not sure if we will be done with dinner in time though.

Tues we will head back to HS for our day to ride rides and let the boys do JAT. We plan on making rope drop again to increase our chances of the little princes turning into Jedis. After doing rides and shows we will take our new Jedis, prince and princess to dinner at 50s dinner for our 4:20 ADR. We will then ride a few more rides then watch Fantasmic. Then back to the hotel for some sleep.

Weds. is our no park day. We have breakfast planned with Alice in Wonderland at 8:50. After breakfast our 2 youngest princes, the princess and I will head back to the hotel for a day of pool and relaxing will the oldest prince will join his daddy for some bonding time on the boats. We wanted to do something special for him since he's too young to become an American Idol and too old to become a Jedi. Then the hubby and I will take the young 2 princes to Neverland while they become lost boys while we will enjoy a dinner show SoA. The older 2 will hang out and play video games and maybe make some friends.

Thurs we will be at MK again. This time we will be doing early EMH. The 2 youngest princes will become pirates at The Pirates League. Both are looking so forward to this. This night we will also catch the parade since we won't be able to on Sunday. Our ADR is at 5:50 at CP. I think the kids will love having dinner with Pooh Bear. The older 2 loved Pooh and Tigger when they were younger. When we took them to Disneyland in 1999 they just had to see Pooh and Tigger.

Friday will be Epcot again and doing early EMH. Hoping to ride anything we missed and maybe riding some favorites again. ADR is the Garden Grill at 4PM. We will catch Illuminations for sure.

Sat we will be checking out and heading to AK for early EMH. After a day at AK we will head home.

Sometime this week I plan on making a count down calander with different activities for the kids to do. They will place stickers on each day and if that day has an activity all 4 will do it. I plan on having them list favorite characters, who they want to meet the most, what rides they want to ride the most, favorite movies, ect. My favorite activity for them to do will be to name 4 Disney movies that the children have both parents from start to finish. See how long it takes them to figure it out :)

As we change our plans I will update more and I will update as the kids do the activities.

To prepare the little ones for Disney World we have been watching old Disney movies. Over spring break we watch a different movie every night of the week. Tonight we are watching Lady and the Tramp.

Thanks for reading.

A little about the members of our family:

Me: Angie, 37 years old. I'm a stay at home mom and I love volunteering in the kids schools. I'm from a small town in MO. Been married 16 yrs to the most wonderful man on earth. I have 4 adorable children. I've been to Disneyland twice. Once I was about 7 or 8. Then again in 1999 we took the older 2 for their 2nd and 4th birthdays. Their birthdays are so close together so we did a lot of double birthday parties. They had a birthday dinner with Goofy. I've been to Disney World once. After I graduated bootcamp in the Navy my mom took me for a day.

Today I worked on our countdown calendar. I'm almost done with it. Just want to decorate the outside of the calendar.
Here's what I have so far
2011-03-20_15-40-27_22.jpg

I can't wait till Fri when they get to start using the calander. This week I've been trying to get CP changed to Sun from Thurs but the only available time is 3:30 which is just to early for dinner. What we have right now is ok since we will be able to take the kids back to the hotel then enjoy late EMH just the 2 of us.
I've also tried to get Kona bc hubby really wants to try it. But there are no good times that will make us not miss rope drop and since we really want to make rope drop most days that's not an option.

So baby prince, age 5, just informed me that he wants to meet all the characters of Mickey Mouse Club House. I told him great we'll make sure we see them.

Then he says "I want to eat with Goofy. He's the funny one"
So now I have to rearrange our plans. Don't want to change any dinner plans so I think we'll drop 1900 PF for a breakfast with Goofy.

I check Chef Mickey first. No breakfast available. :(. They do have a 7:30 Cape May but we are eating there for dinner. But Goofy isn't there for dinner. So I guess we'll be eating there for breakfast and dinner. Another opition is Tusker House when we do AK. But that's the last day of our trip and I don't want him to have to wait that long to see Goofy.

Since this is the first character he's directly asked to meet on his own I want to make it happen so it looks like we'll drop 1900 and add Cape May. Unless a Chef Mickey comes open than we'll do that.

I ended up making an ADR for Cape May that Weds at 8:45. It's our off day so having a late breakfast is ok. My hubby says he may let me take the younger 2 to CM and he'll take the older to Kona's since that's where he really wants to go.

My princess was disappointed not to eat with Alice so I told her that we'll be sure to find her at one of the parks. We've already made some reservations just for her so she said since this was the first one her brother asked for she'll be ok with it. So hard to keep 4 kids happy :).

I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees goofy. I'm thinking of buying him a goofy tshirt to wear that day. I think that will get him special attention from Goofy.

When I told him I made plans for us to eat breakfast with Goofy he was so excited and told me "Ohh thank you so much mommy".

Everyday I get more and more excited about our trip. I am looking so forward to seeing the kids' reactions to seeing their favorite characters.

Reading other ptr I see everyone has added pics of their families so I did the same. They are added on post #4.

Just read through your PTR and your plans sound great! Glad to hear that your son will not need chemo...you have a wonderful reason to celebrate. I really love the calender that you made for the kids, as well :goodvibes

Thank you so much britt. It really is a reason to celebrate. When we told him he wouldn't need chemo his face light up and he said "Now can we go to Disney World"

Today marks day 70 till our vacation so it's time to start using the calander. Fist thing baby prince said when he woke up "Don't we start doing the stickers today?" No good morning mommy, nothing just asked about doing the stickers. I told him he had to wait till tonight so everyone could be here. He wasn't to happy about that.

Today we decided to change our Cape May dinner to Fri instead of Sun. This will give us more of a relaxed time at the park on Sunday. We won't have to rush to get dnner off site and can stay and watch the parade. Then after the parade we can take the kids back to the room then if we feel up to it we'll go to the late EMH.

So on Fri we'll do dinner around 7. Before that we'll do mini golf and after dinner we'll head to DTD.
