~ A PTR for a CAMPING Trip That Might Never Be ~ *TR Started (link inside)*

Just a quick question about pin trading. We did not do this a lot on our last trip, but my DS14 seemed interested in trying. What is a good price for pins on Ebay? I think I may look into getting him a small lot of pins to trade on our trip. Thanks Carissa! :thumbsup2

I haven't purchased a lot of pins on ebay (maybe someone else can chime in too), but I've seen many for $1 - $2 each.

Too funny about the AFB - I think I'm just as glad I didn't ask for a bag when another woman I know was doing it. At least you got entertainment value out of it!

Hooray on getting your money back! :cool1: I don't do much E-baying, so I don't know what your best recourse would've been, but at least you got your money back with a minimum of fuss.

Hmm...I might need to check this out. Dd has been asking for more Princess pins, esp. since she misplaced her Cinderella pin. That would be a heck of a lot cheaper than another trip to WDW! (She did try using that as a tactic of why she NEEDS to go back, lol)

:rotfl: Your bread story is hilarious! And I am a big Maurice Sendak fan. I have an area in the school where I teach that I decorated in dedication to Where the Wild Things Are :)

 for the Disney mail! I love getting that stuff. I too like getting mail, but so does DH. So, I normally let him carry it in and then I go through it. I'll throw him off a little and grab it myself sometimes and then watch him check the mailbox and get that :sad2: look when nothing is there. :rotfl:

Love the AFB story. Seems like someone tried to give me that stuff a long time ago and I trashed it or refused it. The smell is probably all in your head. I know I would be the same way and everyone else would think it is great. And trust me, that is wonderful that your boys were willing to try it. My kid won't even eat anything except chicken nuggets and mac & cheese, and even then if it doesn't look like it should, he won't touch it.

Glad it worked out with the pins. I guess I should start trying Ebay, but to me there is something special about buying them there, but then they cost so much. I don't normally trade, I just collect them.

Hope you have a great weekend!

I've got sound again! We had to reinstall some sound device thingy or something like that. It's so nice to hear again!

I watched the video again, the boys are too cute. :p

I saw that now :) Hate you're leaving on our second day :( But have fun while you're there.

gotcha

best location.

That's what I'm hoping. It's kind of tough because I'm such a light sleeper and I really would like something secluded, but I also don't want to have to walk a mile to get to the food court, etc.

Very true! :lmao:

Smart girl. :thumbsup2

That's definitely his most well known book - and a great one. ::yes::

:rotfl: That's too funny! I guess I'm lucky that my husband doesn't understand my love of mail. I don't have to share. :hyper:

My youngest has always been a picky eater. He's fine with baked goods, but he basically lives on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese sandwiches and fruit. :rolleyes2

Hope you have a great weekend!

Thanks Melissa! You too. :goodvibes

Yay for sound! :cheer2:

Thanks Bill - we're planning to! :goodvibes

*Moving Update Number 1,847 (okay - not really - but it sure feels like it!)*

Took at the list today and put in our FOUR choices this time. If we don't get one of these I'm seriously going to have a mental breakdown. :sad2: But, I think we'll get one of these for sure.

# 1 - Everett, Washington (ship duty)

# 2 - Maryland (staying at the base we're at, but Chuck would offer direct support to a ship)

# 3 - Mayport, Florida (ship duty)

# 4 - Brunswick, Maine/Jacksonville, Florida (it says stationed at Jacksonville, but at Maine so we think this is a ship being built in Maine destined for Jacksonville)

I'm REALLY hoping for Washington State. That's been our first choice all along. Fingers crossed one more time!! :faint:

Oh, I hope you find out something this time. Here is some pixiedust: !

I have thought about Washington also, for some reason DH doesn't want to.

Oh, and I have to tell you. The two times we stayed at POR, noise was never an issue and I guess I have stayed there a total of 15 or 16 nights. Our building did seem far away from the food court, but we never minded. It was just so pretty there and never really seemed crowded. To be as big as it is, most of the time it seemed like we were on the paths by ourselves or saw maybe one or two other families. And I ended up carrying food on trays from the food courts most nights and it still didn't seem that far.

I know there will be a lot of rain and clouds, but I can deal with that since I'd have such gorgeous views. :goodvibes I think the culture would fit me too. The good thing about Chuck being stationed on a ship is that maybe finally he'll make Chief! I really think that's been the main reason he hasn't so far.

That's good to know. The grounds look so peaceful and the buildings so do not look like a "hotel"! I think I can deal with the walk for all of that. ::yes::

Here's hoping you get the news you want this time! :flower3: I would LOVE to be looking forward to a move...my house seems smaller every day! (Could be that my children just won't stop growing....darn kids.)

I have to agree with jmskinner....we stayed in building 16 at POR and even though we were close to the main building, we always felt secluded. The grounds are just so relaxing. Just FYI, building 16 is one that the UG says may have some traffic noise from Bonnet Creek Parkway, but we never heard a single car. We were also overlooking a quiet pool, but it was just that...QUIET. We had no noise issues whatsoever! You are SO going to love your stay at POR and I can't wait to live through you for the few weeks after you get back and before I leave! LOTS OF PICS PLEASE!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

I love having a move to look forward to. It keeps life interesting. :thumbsup2

Car noise wouldn't really bother me anyway. People talking loudly when I'm trying to sleep does.

I will take lots of pictures for sure! :goodvibes

Man! I just got caught up on you PTR its GREAT! :coffee: Loved the breakdancing video too cute!

Ooooh, Carissa, good luck for Washington State!! I know how much you want it, I hope you get it! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

OK YUCK I do not like AFB either:sad2: As a matter of fact my mother tried to give me a starter recently and I screamed at her! I think doing the AFB is just like a stinkin chain letter:crazy2:

Yay for fun mail! I look forward to mail too!:goodvibes

We'll hope along with you that you get your first choice.

Every time I look at your thread, I immediately think AFB - Air Force Base, since that's all I ever knew those letters as in my growing up years.

Thank ye pretty lady. (feel like I should be sporting a cowboy hat and a beard while saying that pirate: ) (and, no, I haven't been drinking - although I WAS tempted since Sully had a friend sleeping over tonight :faint: )

Thanks! :) I think the same thing (yes, I realize that's a bit odd since I actually wrote the title myself and should therefore know what it stands for). ;)
