A Private Event That Was Held Inside The Magic Kingdom…

Thanks for sharing, Janet2k!

I have to agree that the cake was probably fake. At least partially fake. There is no way a cake that size could be entirely real.

That was an amazing, lavish event! Those girls were so lucky!

I can't imagine planning an event like that when I was a teenager! Actually, I don't think I, personally, would have wanted an event like that when I was a teenager. (I do understand that, culturally, this is a big event and those girls were lucky to have it at Disney!)

My sweet-16 was nothing like that: just me and a few dozen friends with lots of pizza, soda, and junk food, games, and a few dumb movies like Tommy Boy and Dumb and Dumber. But, I wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world. It was perfect for me.

Spanish: El castillo de Cenicienta en el parque de Disney en Orlando, fue la cede de los festejos.
English: The castle of Cinderella in the park of Disney in Orlando, was the location of the celebration.

That is my favorite photo; the fireworks, castle, and horse-drawn carriages epitomize Disney magic for me!

WOW! I am incredibly jealous!!!

Aprincess72, I wonder if those girls can even comprehend what kind of gift they were given by The Walt Disney Company, Univision, Southwest Airlines, David's Bridal, and whoever else might have been a sponsor. Their event was truly one-of-a-kind. Priceless.

AuroraBorealis, you're welcome. It is rare that I stumble into photos/videos of private theme park events such as that one. I wish that information were more readily available because it does prove useful to those who are planning Disney events. And that is why I decided to share it here on the Dis.

I'm sure cake was served that night, but I don't think it came from the one in the photos. Those layers were too dang big! Can you imagine being served a piece of cake that is 2- or 3-feet tall? Yikes! Of course, since I love cake (especially frosting), I wouldn't turn it down. ;)

Oh, I agree. The event looked just lovely. I hope those girls understand just how lucky they were.

Luckily for those teenagers, Disney has a team of Event Managers whose job it is to pull off the impossible. All those girls had to do was show up and enjoy their wonderful quinceañera.

I hear you on that. My parents had a house on the beach, and we (my sister & I) threw a lot of beach parties in high school. I think our most elaborate beach party included a rock band (instead of our normal DJ). The band's equipment kept tripping the circuit breakers. Thankfully, we had an electrician at the party and he rewired the main power box so the band could rock & roll to their hearts' content all night long.

That was probably our most elaborate party. Thankfully, Disney has their own team of electricians who handle an event's power needs seamlessly. No blown circuits for a Disney party, I am sure. ;)

I agree. And I hope you caught the final second or two of the official video because it showed the exact same scene as it played out in real life. Very touching. And nothing but pure Disney ~magic.~

we saw girls in dresses being taped early in the morning on 5/2. I knew that there was some quinceanera event going on because i saw a flier advertising it when we were at the hospital a couple days earlier... the picture isn't that clear, but i wasn't sure what i was taking a picture of anyways, i'm just nosy and saw the tv camera ;)

Hulagirl87, oh, thank you for sharing that photo. It was wonderful for me to catch a "behind the scenes" glimpse of the special event. It looks like you caught the television crew as they were videotaping some of the footage that was used in the following television commercial: click here.

Do you remember what the flyer said? It sounds odd that a flyer about a private event would be posted in a hospital. (By the way, I hope you were only at the hospital for a simple check-up and not something more serious.)

Some of you may want to tune in to the following television show on Monday evening, May 28th, in order to see how Disney handled this very special private event...

The popular "Show de Cristina" on the Univision Spanish language network will air a special edition, "A Dream Come True Quinceañera", on May 28 at 10 p.m. ET.

And...

For this very special occasion, Walt Disney World Resort created the most magical Quinceañera party ever planned in any Disney park. It was an unprecedented all-Spanish language-event at the Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle stage, where dads ceremoniously changed flat shoes for high heels and waltzed with their daughters as they reached young womanhood. The memorable evening included a dinner reception in Fantasyland with mariachis, hip DJ music, a serenade by Grammy Award-winning pop sensation Fonseca and a nearly eleven-foot tiered cake. A fabulous fireworks finale lit up the skies as the Quinceañeras were whisked away in horse-drawn carriages down Main Street, U.S.A. with the rising sun.

Just thought I'd remind those of you who are interested in viewing the television show that it airs tonight at 10 PM on the Univision network. I'm planning on watching it even though I don't really know the language. I'm especially looking forward to seeing how the Disney folks set up Fantasyland for the dinner reception.

Arrrrr! pirate: I misread the subject line - thought this post was about a PIRATE event! :rotfl:
