My 7 year old DD has decided she must stay at the DLH when we go to Disneyland next summer. Is there a preferred or better view to ask for when booking? I have never stayed onsite before, only one day trip. My DD absolutely loved the Contemporary at WDW and watched the fireworks over the castle from our patio everynight. Is there anything like this at the DLH or is there a better view of something else that she might like? I'm a complete novice here and all help would be greatly appreciated!

The Sierra Tower at the DL Hotel has rooms that overlook the marina on one side and on the other you have a view of Downtown Disney. Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. If you book at this hotel you need to ask for a Themepark View. The view of Disneyland is nice but not as good as at WDW. The castle is smaller so you can't really see it. If there are fireworks you can see those.

Daannzzz,
I've been away for a few days and just got your prompt reply. Thanks for the information and your response reminds me that I should try to make sure my DD knows the views, etc. will not be quite the same as WDW so she is not disappointed.

Welcome back. If DD doesn't mind, you could book a themepark view at the Paradise Pier hotel whjich puts you in a room with a spectacular view of the new California Adventure park. This is a MUCH closer view than anything at WDW. The rooms overlook the Paradise Pier section which is full of lights. The hotel isn't quite as nice as the Disneyland hotel though.

That's a thought, I'll look into that as well and ask her what is most important to her about the room (size, view...). Can she still use the Neverland Pool at the DHL if we did that? She is adamant about wanting to spend time there!

Oh, that "Themepark View" isn't just the parks, it is the gorgeous Downtown Disney as well! If I were not on a budget, a themepark view room in an upper floor of the Sierra tower would be my absolute ideal!

You can use the pools at the other onsite resorts if you are a DLR guest.

I have stayed at the Paradise Pier several times now, and the view is wonderful from the upper floors. However, you can hear the music from the park from early in the morning to park closing. Very noisy. Nice hotel, though.

Oh, Teri, thanks - that's good to know about the "noisy" part. Have others experienced that as well? And, hearing you endorse Daannzzz's Sierra Tower suggestion is starting to sound very good. Anyone else have any opinions on this subject?
