A Pre Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation, Our First Split Stay & Our 5th Trip to Disney!

Great PTR so far.... I have traveled to WDW in Nov before... and have been the the MVMCP... it is amazing to see it snow on Main St.... most of the decorations will be up... espcially in the park... the resorts took a little longer..... we spent a whole day going around the lobbys of the different resorts.... it was really fun!!

Thanks Wendy! Welcome to my PTR!

I just looked at your signature. I didn't realize you have been to Disney 28 times!!! :worship: WOW!

Yes, we are very excited to see Disney all decorated up! :santa: I think I'm the most excited! :yay:

I made my way over! I can't wait to hear about WDW in November. One of my best friends always goes the 1st week in December and she loves it. I'd love to go to Disney when it's decorated for Christmas!

Welcome Meghan! I'll be sure to let you know what we think of November. I'm thinking the weather will be a little cooler than May and a little warmer than January. At least that's what I am hoping! :wizard: And getting to see some Christmas decorations is an added bonus!

Shel- I don't care what you call me--- just don't call me late for dinner.

:lmao:

Jane-- OMGosh--- :scared1: are you one of our MAYer Lurkers???????????? :snooty: Did you just tell on yourself????????????? ;)

Okay, back to some more of our favorite things about Disney~

Now that we've talked about rides, let's talk about shows, parades, and fireworks! pixiedust:

My favorite all time 3D Show at Disney has got to be Mickey's Philharmagic! LOVE that show. So do the kids. DH could take it or leave it I think. It was closed for refurbishment last time we were there, so the kids and I are pumped to see it in November! :donald: They think it's just hilarious when Donald's behind is sticking out of the wall at the end! :rotfl:

Other 3D Shows - we finally saw ITTBAB at AK on this past trip. DH and I thought it was okay. The kids really enjoyed it. But we were all surprised by how short it was. :confused3 Haven't seen HISTA yet, but may have to squeeze it in this time, although I hear it's not that great. Of course we always see the Muppet 3D Show. I'm not sure why. It's pretty good I guess. The kids like it because they mention Pittsburgh in it! Am I leaving any 3D Shows out?

Other shows - it took us 4 trips, but we finally saw FOTLK in January. Wow that's an amazing show. I can't believe it took us so long to see it! Love the Indiana Jones and Lights Motors Action Stunt Shows! Monsters Inc is hilarious! :sulley: The kids even got put up on the screen once. Don't really care much for the Tiki Birds or the Country Bears. :confused3 DS7 fell asleep in the Country Bears once. I would love to see the Nemo musical this time, but we'll see if I can talk the boys into it.

Parades - I am the parade lover in the family. The boys could really care less about a parade unless they are throwing candy out! I think it's the waiting part they can't stand. Neither of them are much for waiting, especially DS10. But usually after the wait is over they do enjoy it. After making the family sit through the Dreams Come True parade at MK the first 3 trips, I gave them a break in January. Instead I made them watch Spectromagic! Another amazing thing that I can't believe it took us 4 trips to see. We don't really care for the Block Party Bash much at DHS. I really really miss the Stars & Cars Motor Parade. That was an awesome parade. Why did they have to do away with it? :sad1: We saw Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade at AK on our very first trip in 2005 and haven't seen it since. :confused3 I think because we usually hit AK first thing in the morning and are out of there long before parade time. So it is on our list for November!

Fireworks! Of course we have to see Wishes on every trip. It's just tradition. I think for everyone! Love it! Then we usually rotate Fantasmic and IllumiNations every other trip. We just saw Fantasmic in January and let me tell you that since they cut it back to only a few times a week going to DHS on a Fantasmic day is a mistake!! :scared1: Oh the crowds. :sad2: Not happening this time. So we are looking forward to IllumiNations. We've never really had a good spot for it, so we've never really been able to see the whole thing. Any suggestions for a good spot to see it and then make a quick escape for the buses?

Up Next: Let's talk about Disney food! :mickeybar

Yeah, I am thinking that the parks will have their decorations up, just not sure how much the hotels will have up in mid November. We will probably take a deluxe hotel tour just in-case! :santa:

Thanks for the split-stay tips. :goodvibes

I hope we like WCC. I'm not sure there is anything on the menu that my kids are going to eat. They are very picky eaters. But I'm sure they will have a great time there. They are not shy at all, so they will join in all the fun!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you but im sure you'll get to nosey at some decorations :santa: Maybe have a look for some trip reports from november last year and see if the decorations are present in peoples photos :surfweb:

What sort of things do they eat? Me and DH are sort of picky, picky in the sense that we dont do 'fancy' food  Give us a good old burger or chicken any day :lmao:

I'm fine with JoJo so that it doesnt get confusing, or maybe it will anyway

I have never seen Spectro and cant wait to see it on this trip - Im on a mission!! We havent seen the block party parade, its on the list, is it not very good? Is it just pixar characters? I'll miss stitch, loved him in the cars parade :wizard:

That's a good idea to look in some old November TR's for decorations!

I guess last year the Osborne Lights weren't on display until after Thanksgiving, but it looks like they are starting on Nov 10th this year. I will be there that night!! :woohoo:

Well, DS7 doesn't eat much of anything. So lots of times we will have to order a grilled cheese - with no cheese! Or a turkey sandwich - hold the turkey! Thank goodness he likes bread! He does like chicken - but only breaded and deep fried. And he likes mini-corndogs, so we always make a stop at Casey's Corner for those. DS10 likes chicken, corn dogs, and has started to eat burgers sometimes. He likes pizza, but takes all the cheese off. :confused3 See what I'm up against!! :faint: A lot of times we will feed them pb&j sandwiches in the room and that way if they eat at the restaurant, good and if they don't that's fine too. But make that just "j" for DS7, he won't eat pb.

You must see Spectro! It is wonderful!

I'm probably the wrong person to ask about Block Party - I think it's kind of dumb. :guilty: But others might love it. I think I just compare it to the old parade at DHS which I think was so much better!

Glad to help  I cant wait to see the osborne lights either :yay:

Awww bless the kids, guess we all go through those kind of stages. I'm sure they will like something at WCC - have you thought about maybe getting the 'skillet' that has a mixture of things in it that you can all share. They could pick different things that way and you could much whatever is left and then nothing would get wasted. I think it has ribs, fried chicken, mashed potatoes etc... in it. Have a nosey at the menus on the allears site :surfweb:

I cant wait to see spectro :woohoo: I was so upset when we missed it last time. We got lost on the way back from busch gardens and that was the night we should have watched it

Guess we'll watch block party with an open mind then and wont expect too much just incase we dont like it either :confused3

:donald: They think it's just hilarious when Donald's behind is sticking out of the wall at the end! :rotfl:

LOL! You said "Behind"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;):lmao:

For IllumiNations, I'd try standing as close to FW as possible. In January, we watched it near Mexico. It didn't take as long at all to leave the park. However, we did get our spot at the railing about an hour before it started. We occupied ourselves with Maddie's "Guide to the Magic" book and some ice cream!

We saw HISTA in June and it really wasn't worth it. None of us had seen it, so that's why my DH insisted that we see it. Madison hated it and I couldn't get past how outdated it was. Madison isn't fond of the Country Bears either, but she adores the Tiki Room (I do too!).

I guess I am a lurker  Shelly sent me the link to her Hershey TR, so I went to check it out. Then I went to page 1 to see how the thread began and it said "Here we are MAYers - Part 5" Oh wait, I forgot the :snooty: .... ;)

I guess I'm a little late to see the beginning of the thread. So I hope someone will fill me in how it started!

I'll delurk. We hated Block Party. We asked a CM where to sit, and we saw nothing. Stuff way down the road and by the time they got to us, all we got was Flick's butt while he danced. Total waste of time.

In the beginning was this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1339721 and Mickey saw that it was :snooty::snooty::snooty:!

I can't believe you found that original thread!

Yes, we all started chatting back in 2007 when we were planning our May trips. Then we came up with the name - the MAYers. Get it? Pretty clever huh? Then somehow this became our sign/mascot -> :snooty:

And we've been chatting nearly daily ever since. :grouphug:

Well thanks for delurking! :rotfl: Welcome! :goodvibes

I see I am definitely not alone in my feelings for Block Party!
