A Prayer and good thoughts please.

My FIL is in the hospital. He got sick yesterday and has some internal bleeding. He has heart problems and diabetes, I'm not sure they know what is causing the bleeding but it is complicated by the medications he takes. He's had 2 bypasses and is going to be getting an internal defibrillator soon. He's in ICU because his condition isn't stable.

They live close by and my girls are their only grandchildren. My 11yo & her Grandpa have a very special relationship. I worry so anytime he's sick.

Any Dr or Nurses is this something fairly common for older people with heart problems?

Unfortunately, medications that folks need forone thing may negatively affect another thing...it is not terribly uncommon, although it is still scary.

Prayers being sent right away that he will heal and be well.

My FIL also has had open heart surgery, has high blood pressure and emphazema (sp).

He was in the hospital 2 weeks ago with internal bleeding. Turned out to be a bleeding ulcer aggrevated by the daily asprin he was taking. They had to give him two pints of blood and they used a laser to remove the ulcer.

He is home (was only in for 5 days), and is doing very well.

I will pray that your FIL has just as speedy a recovery as mine did.
