Here's goes.

I challenge all posters to say something positive about the opposite candidate.

Not anything though. Something positive about their character or their policies. Not something positive like "what a looker!" or "he makes me laugh."

I challenge them to find something positive on those parameters.

I'll start.

I respect John McCain's service to our country and his past willingness to work with both sides of the aisle.

From what I can see, Obama is a dedicated husband and father.

He's very articulate

McCain clearly loves our country and I was very impressed when he corrected his supporters who were misinformed about Obama. He could have ignored it, but he took the opportunity to do the right thing. That was admirable.

I respect Ralph Nader's consistency and persistence.

I admire many things about John McCain--but because I watched it this morning and it's on my mind, I really admire the fact that he appeared on SNL and poked fun at himself. :thumbsup2

Well, I think Obama has interesting pinnae. I told that to my daughter a few days ago, and she says that I'm in luck--I'll be able to get a good look at them for the next 4 years at least! :lmao:

(I'm taking Audiology in school so I'm looking at people's ears as never before, lol).

I also think Obama is an excellent speaker.

McCain was funny on SNL last night. I like a man who can poke fun at himself. Makes him seem more human.

Sarah Palin. Two weeks ago I would have said she has marvelous taste in clothes but...hmmm, I think she would make a very good gal pal over lunches, book club-no scratch that, watching movies together maybe. I don't share her parenting style so maybe not but I'd try to be her friend.

I have to agree. He doesn't seem to take himself too seriously.

I admire John McCain for his dedicated service to our country. Regardless of whether or not I agree with how he votes, he obviously takes service to our country seriously.

I admire Sarah Palin for being a strong, formidable woman. She balances being a mother with being a community leader well. She knows how to delegate responsibility and is a perfect example of how women have been balancing home, family and career for years.

I think McCain is genuinely funny.

ETA: great idea for a thread pr.

I don't think that John McCain is another George Bush.
