Hey everyone, I was asked by a mod to post my latest update for IOACentral here, because I have a lot of pics and info this week about Discovery Cove:
This week on IOACentral Radio we kick off our Endless Summer Roadtrip with a trip to what I simply think is Paradise, Discovery Cove. My family surprised me with the trip as a late Birthday Present for me, and I was able to speak with Kevin, an Animal Care Specialist at Discovery Cove about the park, the different programs and packages they offer, and all the activities at the park. You can hear about all that this week, but heres what you wont hear.

When you drive into the park you see the familiar gardens and topiary that Busch is known for. The parking is close and no need for trams, or moving walkways, or even to remember where you parked.

As we walked in we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff in the beautiful lobby. This place is gorgeous, with dolphin art hanging from the ceiling, and greeted by one of the many animals that we had interaction with.

After getting your waterproof nametags with maps, yes they're waterproof as well, you're walked down into the main area of the park through beautiful plants, waterfalls ad scenary.

You also are asked to pose for your complimentary picture.

You are then asked about your Dolphin swim and told everything you need to know to make it through your day. You are given your lockers, and your equipment and given time to catch some breakfast, which is included in the price of admission.

Our first stop was the Aviary, where we were able to feed a number of birds and see deer.

Then it was right into the water, where we encountered all kinds of fish and stingrays on natural coral reef.

You are given a swim mask, snorkel and either wet suit vest, or a full wet suit, but the water is still a little chilly, which is just what the animals need.

After our lips were a little blue we ventured over to the tropical river which is a warm 85 degrees, and clear. It also has a lazy river current to it, which allowed for easy swimming. There were also loads of sunken items that you can dive down and see.

We had a nice lunch, also included in admission, then I was treated to something I didnt know...I had a dolphin swim!

It was an amazing experience as I got to kiss Capricorn, who is 36 year old, and is featured in all the Discovery Cove and Sea World commercials, and who was also in JAWS 3 as Cindy.

I then got to take a ride with Cap, after learning some hand signals, and feeding him some ice and fish. It was an amazing experience.

I hope you enjoy it, and if you would like more information, check out www.discoverycove.com and also tune into the show next week as we hit spot number two: Busch Gardens Europe for the opening of Griffon!
