A pleasant surprise

We like to try a new restaurant each visit. We come once or twice a year...for the last 20 years. Yesterday we tried Nine Dragons at the China pavilion. I didn’t have high expectations for this as you never hear much about this place. I was pleasantly surprised. We had a reservation but they were accepting walk-ins at noon. Because it wasn’t packed it was a quiet, peaceful meal. We love finding quite spots to get out of the crowds and this was perfect. The service was fast and friendly. The food was similar to something we could get at a dozen places back home so it was not a show-stopper. The food was however well prepared and reasonably (for WDW) priced. We enjoyed the tofu veggie plate, spring rolls with a unique sauce that had a hint of heat, and the jasmine tea. (They leave the pot of tea for multiple cups). We will definitely add this to our list of “regulars” to visit each year.

I've been reluctant to try this because it just doesn't seem unique enough when there are so many seemingly more interesting dining experiences to choose from, but I'm thinking I will have to get around to trying it soon.

It's not a must do for us on a short trip, but I'm not disappointed when it comes up on our random last minute ADR options

We ate there once with a similar impression. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing that stood out. Definitely, nothing different than what we can get at multiple Chinese restaurants at home. So we intentionally go for what we can't find locally.
