A Planners Nightmare

If you re read my post that you quoted you will see that my company had a Holiday party, not a Christmas party.
Whether it irks you or not, it was a fact that we were expected to attend. And to not, was a career choice. A privately owned company can do what they want, If I chose to work there, there were company norms I had to adhere to

Sorry. Many people do not celebrate any holidays in December. Quite a few people are atheists at this point.

And no offense to you... it's the boss that makes a social event a requirement that irks me.

There are plenty of careers, firms and partnerships where networking and events are part of the JOB. Good jobs, good companies.

Sorry it's messing up your perfect planning FSUgirl. Hope you're able to score your ADRs again.

I'm probably the most upset of the group because I love Disney the most and took a time and effort to get the hotel and restaurants just right.
Vacationing with people you like will make whatever plans you end up with, just right :D

You mentioned only being able to find ADRs for two for the changed plans? Book two of those as close together as possible, arrive early, and ask to be seated together.

A story to help you look on the bright side:
We just recently had a driving vacation planned that got "messed up" by my DH's work, and it turned out to be great! He was supposed to go to Portsmouth, NH, for a couple of days about a week before our trip...buuuuut, it was changed at the last minute. Sooooo we went from leaving for upstate NY on Saturday, to tagging along to Portsmouth on Thursday, and leaving from there early Sunday (...to leaving from there late Sunday...)

I was a wreck trying to get everything ready for the trip in half the time, but DS and I had a blast hanging around Portsmouth, and DH got to join us for more time than he thought. I found things to do even without my usual level of obsessive research (thank you, DIS friends!!) and it turned out to be a wonderful start to our vacation. Maybe your new dates will mean some special surprise at Disney too!

@PollyannaMom What did you end up doing while in Portsmouth??

@PollyannaMom What did you end up doing while in Portsmouth??

Water Country
York's Wild Kingdom (actually in Maine, but only a few minutes drive)
the Moffatt-Ladd House (a historical tour)
a couple of fun restaurants and lots of neat shopping (I didn't actually buy too much, with the car already full, but there were a ton of cute shops and galleries to look in)

If you're interested in going there, here's the thread where I asked fellow DISers for recommendations:

It has the restaurant recommendations and everything.
