Congrats on completing the 18 miles!! I LOVE his "bath face"...so much disgust.

Congrats on the 9/18 back-to-back. That's huge!
Poor puppy. My pup very grudgingly tolerates baths.
Thanks all!! I am so glad that the 18-miler went well...really I felt better after that one than after Friday's 9-miler...weird.Congrats on the mileage! LOVE the puppy pictures!![]()
And then, the next day...a big test - 18 miles! This distance is significant to me because when I was training for the 2012 marathon, this was the furthest I got in training (I had a 20-miler planned but weather prevented me from getting that in). So I felt like if I could do 9- and 18-milers back-to-back and feel okay, that this would give me a lot of confidence for Dopey.
I changed to 2/1 intervals for this run...at the halfway point I started alternating the 2/1 intervals with 1/1 intervals, just to give my back a break. So it took a long time, but I DID finish the 18 miles!!It wasn't perfect, and it was slow, and I didn't feel perfect when I was done...but I finished and it did give me a confidence boost.
Thanks John! I appreciate that!!Well done! You're in great shape for Dopey!
Gah, I hope so! I just need my creaky back to cooperate for the weekend...Yay on your 18 miler and on successful back to back runs! You got this! Dopey will be a blast for you cuz you will be so ready for it! And double Yay for taper coming soon!
GAH, I know - does it make you feel guilty? Normally I don't, but this time I did because he was just shaking! I'm like..."I know you don't understand this, but this is us being good dog owners and taking good care of you!"Your pup is so adorable! Mine get the same face at bath time. And we have it down too, in and out, but you'd think we were torturing them!

"Help me Obi Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope."

So many times in life, I wish I could converse with this dog. I mean, I talk to him all the time, but I wish he would actually UNDERSTAND me and I wish I knew what he was thinking!!Truth! It is also hard to reason with a Chihuahua! And yep, they always make me feel guilty. I'm like, "This will help you!" lol!
Yeah, I think the video you are referencing surely must be fake!!18!!! Go you!! I saw this cute video on fb a while ago that was like "look at this rescue dog who is enjoying his first warm bath" and the dog looks SO relaxed and happy! My Luna is just like your Archie and hates baths, and I want to show her that fb video to show her how good she has it and that she should be more appreciative like the rescue dog!![]()
Thanks!! I just got a matching pullover in the mail yesterday - obsessed!! The funky lighting doesn't do it justice.I'm sure I've said this before but I LOVE the butterfly outfit. You look so great!!
Thanks!!Great job on the 18 miler (and the 9 the day before!) Woo hoo - you are going to get through dopey just fine!![]()
Thanks!Awesome job getting in those back to back long runs!!
GAHHH right? I have times where I'm driving home from work and I'm at a curb and suddenly there's someone right there, like, walking a dog or whatever - and it just makes me think how I didn't see them at all until they were super close to me, so surely cars cannot see me if I'm running in those conditions.Running in the dark freaks me out so much. I also don't have any gear for running in the dark ... I'm too terrified that it won't help (I already have a huge fear of getting hit by a car), so I'm not going to waste my money buying things. It may not be the best thing ever, but sometimes that treadmill is a godsend.
Poor Archie is not feeling that bath. He's looking at the camera screaming "save me!!"
Thanks! I am thinking this thread needs more puppy pictures.Great job getting the miles in...loved the bonus puppy picture...ahhhh!
Okay - THANK YOU for noticing!!I am so stinking proud of you with that Star Wars quote!! And to think last year you hadn't watched ANY of them!!!
Thanks so much!Great training. You've done so well with it despite your injury-way to go!
Thanks!Great job on your 9/18 training weekend. You are in great shape heading into Dopey. I gave my little dog a bath very recently too. Oh the trauma of it all.![]()
