It just occurred to me tonight that I have never seen this suggested. But if your kids don't like the dark like mine.. a night light would be a good thing to pack:)

We usually bring little flashlights (they just stay in our toiletries bag), great for finding the bathroom at night without waking everyone up, and for little ones who don't want the lights turned out.

I have one in my bag to carry with us next week, with a little one I think it's more for sanity than for light. Hotel rooms get very dark!

We usually just leave the bathroom door cracked with the light on. That way their room has a little light and they can find the bathroom. We usually get 2 connecting rooms at POP. I leave the light on in my bathroom too, but I'm scared of the dark!:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 We bring a nightlight/air freshener whenever we go to hotels! We even bring nightlights when we visit family -- it can be confusing to wake up in a strange house in the middle of the night!

What I use is a glow stick stuck in a glass on the side table. It is the perfect amount of light.

Crack the glow stick for DD to hold around the parks at night so hopefully she does not ask for another light up toy. lol then use it as night light.

thats a great idea! esp when the rooms are super dark and you need to see where the potty is, how to step over luggage, shoes, etc when you are squeezing 6 people in a hotel room :twitch: LOL

Sometimes I will put an extra in the bathroom just to guide the way better. Have fun!

Here's my list of things to consider packing -
Night light – the rooms are dark and the bathroom lights are very bright at 3am
Febreeze
Clothes pins
Dish rag & dish detergent
Disney themed bathroom cups
Over the door shoe rack to organize toiletries & keep them off the counter
Individual pack of laundry detergent (Target)
Dryer sheets – keeps your clothes smelling fresh then use them in the dryer
Window decorations (clings or other stuff so you can easily find your room)
Pop-up hamper or two
Powerstrip (to charge everything you have to plug in every day – phones, camera, etc.)
Phone charger, camera charger, ipod charger, etc.
Lysol
Pillow case from home
Rain ponchos from the dollar store
Small notebook for autographs or journaling
Extra coffee/filters for a 4 cup coffee maker
Ziploc bags
Sun block, extra sun block and aloe gel
Plastic hangers
Mister fan (costs about 5.99 here and 12.99 there) tip: don’t get the foam fan. It will rip apart. If you can find it (ACME) get the one with the plastic fan instead.
Glow sticks
Binoculars (for the scenery around your resort)
Headphones for the plane – AirTran offers XM Sat. radio for free

Hope this helps.:cool1:

We just saved one of the sturdy jumbo sized plastic soda cups from a fast food place to bring and use as a water rinse cup for baths, we are going to throw it out before we leave.

I actually picked up a couple of cheapie night light from Dollar Tree the other for just this purpose. I'd hate for the kids to trip on something and break a toe in the middle of the night. :thumbsup2

The one thing I never see on the boards is my secret vacation weapon for feet! I always pack some brand of foot revitalizer. Now that I am writing this I guess it is similiar to Ben-gay but more spa and aromatherapy-like. Avon sells it periodically or I have gotten some from Aveda and Bath and Body Works. It's very minty and eucalyptus (spelling??) scented, relaxes tired feet and re-energizes them. I slather a bunch on my feet and up my calves before bed and put on socks to hold in the moisture. (Of course it would be better if you had a spouse to massage it in!) My feet always feel refreshed in the morning and am able to go from about 8am to midnight with the tired feet feeling.

Another item for me is a shower cap. I took my daughter to the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique last year and she refused ri shower for three days beacuse it would mess up her hair. Yes, the hair do lasted that long! Next trip (january) I am packing shower caps!

BTW, the suggestion of a power strip is an excellent idea! Never thought of that, I am always searching for outlets in a hotel room!

I ALWAYS forget this.....but will then just keep the bathroom light on with the door open a crack. That gives off enough just enough light in the room.

EEECK, I went to Bad and Body Works to get some "peppermint lotion" to help my feet in the evening, sounds like what you got because it is menthonally (sp?) smelling. That tube was $14 :scared1: , I ONLY bought it because I had a gift card from a few Christmas's ago, thanks MIL.

Thank you for reminding me! I'm making a final pack list this morning and I had forgotten about the night light.:)

We to the Dollar Tree yesterday to get glow sticks bracelets for our trip, should have look for the night lights too. Oh well, I am sure I will be going back there before our trip. Have a great time!
