I am looking for the best resort to stay for one night? We would like to go one day ahead of our cruise sailing and plan to just do dining and downtown Disney - any ideas? We are
DVC Members and have stayed at the Beach Club but wanted to try something different. It will be myself, hubby and daughter 11 y.o.
Thanks!
Hello! I have a couple ideas based on our recent experience. We also love BC and our boys are ages 12, 11 and 4, so maybe these will be helpful. Before our August cruise, we stayed at BWI and absolutely loved it. We stayed in a CL boardwalk view room, and I couldn't believe how quiet and peaceful BWI is in the morning - and so close to the water! The dining options in that area are wonderful - Yachtsman, Bluezoo, Il Mulino, Flying Fish - yum! If you're using
DCL transfers, it's super easy. We just met in the Belle Vue lounge and boarded the DCL bus.
Another resort we love for a non-parks visit is AKL. I'm not a fan of animals, so we stayed in a pool view room (not all five of us - they only accomodate 4.) For a non-parks stay, I really loved it. The pools at AKL are great - guests can use both the Kidani pool and the main AKL pool. And Jiko is one of my favorite restaurants at Disney. (Sanaa is great, too.) It's well-themed, the lobby smells great and the rooms were in great condition.
All that said, I'm stopping by WDW on the way from the beach to the Orlando airport with our youngest son in April, and we're staying at POFQ. If you're looking for a more moderately priced option, it looks great. Although if you have DCL transfers, I'm not sure whether they pick up there.
Good luck with your decision and have a great trip!
