a not so subtle reminder...

This morning as DH and I were making breakfast we heard this terrible noise outside then our house started to shake!!


We couldnt figure out what was going on until we went outside and saw 3 double rotor Helicopters flying over VERY low.

I had never seen those here before.

I couldnt help but think how glad I am to know that we are protected by such brave men and women who are so prepared!


We are about an hour from an Air Force base here so we see fighter jets frequently, its pretty obvious though we are gearing up.

After 9/11, the DC area had air patrols for a long time. It was strange to wake up in the middle of the night, every night, and hear the jets.

I heard them last night for the first time in months.

Interesting... We live within about 10 miles of Dobbins Air Force Base. There was a tremendous amount of activity overhead today. DH said it was the big choppers because the house was shaking. My 2 year old golden actually started whining which he has never done before.
