A Normal Stride?

What is the average inches/feet that a person walks to make a stride?

I've walked my tail off and it shows 4855 steps but only 1.4 miles.

I know I've done more because I walk a mile each morning. So, I'm not right.

I have it set for 20" as a stride.

My pedometer has me walk 10 feet then measure and divide that number by 10 to get average steps. I want to say it was about 28 or 29 and I am a short strider. (Thanks to short legs )

Maybe you can try measuring to get a more accurate of you.
