Yes, my sixth grade science teacher was very hands on. He brought his St. Bernard in to school when she went into labor and the entire sixth grade class stayed into the night watching the puppies being born. Then he would bring them in to be weighed, measured, and observed every couple of weeks. It was a very cool science project.
