A New Disney Town?

Heard from an employee at the AAA Car Care Center that Disney recently purchased 22,000 acres about 50 miles south of Orlando to start a new town like Celebration. Any truth to this?

If the person at AAA had heard it, and it were true, The Orlando Sentinel would have heard about it also and would have had banner headlines!

Just the idea alone makes zero sense to begin with. Disney is selling off the land they have now, ran out of the "town biz" years ago and why the heck would they want to build a town 50 miles from Orlando where they have zero contorl over the gov like they do at Reedy Creek.

They could have been talking about "Island village" but they have said that work on that would not be for a few years yet.

Island Village isn't that big. They might be thinking about this land deal for a new planned community near Yeehaw Junction - and it's not Disney.
