Ok guys, I have come up with a new challenge and an incentive to losing weight! I have 40 pounds that I am wanting to lose. So far, I have been having the most DIFFICULT time motivating myself to eat healthy and to keep exercising. I usually behave for a week, and then I revert back to old habits. :sad2:

So I am challenging myself to lose these 40 pounds - and when I finally do lose it all, I will treat myself to a solo trip to WDW! :cool1:

So here is the plan:

1) I will make healthy choices with my food.
2) Lately, I've been eating out three times a week. That's at LEAST fifteen dollars a week that I've been spending on fast food. I'm challenging myself not to eat fast food at all --- and for each week that I successfully avoid fast food, I'm going to deposit five dollars into my Disney fund! :woohoo:
3) I will exercise regularly!

I'm hoping that these steps will get me closer to a healthier lifestyle...and closer to a Disney vacation! (And who knows, maybe by then I will be healthy enough to run in a Disney race!)

Anybody want to join me? It's always great to have a group to share healthy recipes with, and to report our successes/fallbacks to! :goodvibes

Ladytorch. Read the Four Hour Body. I say this because, not only is it really cool to see how the author experimented on himself, but I also liked tidbits such as the following:
1) He says you should have cheat days built into each week or else your body becomes used to the caloric deficit. Knowing that I have a cheat day coming helps me stay strict on the other days.
2) He makes a good argument for ditching the time-consuming cardio and replacing it with shorter, higher intensity stuff.

I don't have time to exercise for an hour every day, which is why I couldn't stick with P90X. I also don't have it in me to clean up my diet eternally. However, I can handle shorter busts of high intensity stuff most days, as well as eating clean provided I know that a cheat day is coming.

My plan was to wait until Easter brunch to pig out this week. But last night found me at a friend's house surrounded by pizza and beer. I went for the pizza and beer, and for some reason I don't really care if I pig out at the buffet today since the pizza/beer satisfied my need to cheat.

Finally, just sign up for a few things --- running races, walk-athons, anything. Space it no more than 3 months apart. If you have a bunch of things on the horizon that will require you to keep working out, it will be easy to maintain your motivation.

Good luck!
