DD 22 months old went from taking one nap a day that was two hours long and about a month or so ago she changed and now she takes one nap a day, but she is napping for 3 hours. How long does your little one nap for during the day?

Three hours until today, which was two hours for the first time in a year! He is two and almost a half.

My 27 month old has decided he no longer needs naps.:( Once he moved to a bed that was the end of naps!

My son was taking 3 hour naps when he was 2 to 2-1/2. Now he's three and doesn't really take naps  . I'm hoping that will change once school starts up again in a couple of weeks.

I thought it was too long of a nap, but it sounds like most 2 yr olds nap for 3 hrs at some point. 3 hours is like heaven for me. I can watch my soap opera, shower, surf the DIS;) basically be really unproductive for 3 hours. I better savor it before she decides not to nap at all!

my 2.5 year old naps anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3. a lot of it depends on the morning we had...the more active, the longer the nap.

My just-turned-2-year-old takes a 2 hour nap every day....1pm to 3pm. Other than that, he sleeps from about 7:30pm to 6:15am every night, waking only if he loses his pacifier or blanket in his bed.

FYI, so does his 3.5-year-old sister....although she's attempting to give that up this week. Unh, unh, says I. She's MUCHO grumpy when she skips that nap.

If she has had a busy morning my 3 year old will nap for 3 hours, otherwise it is around 2. I don't let her sleep more than 3 though because she would be up all night and she gets up between 6:15-6:30 every morning no matter what time she goes to bed.

I love those naps though. I get a lot done. :)

DD just turned 2, but she's been taking one nap a day for a long time now, and usually for an hour. At the most, 1.5 hrs. She takes her nap usually around 1 or 2, and then she goes to bed at about 8 or 8:30 and doesn't wake up until 7am the next morning.

My dd is 4 now and she still takes a nap every day for 2 hours. She has a very hard time making it through the day without one.

My "toddler" is now 9, but I kind of remember reading somewhere that toddler’s need 16 hours of sleep (no matter how it breaks out: 13 at night& 3 in the day... etc.)

They will sleep more at age when they are in a growth sprit.

Adam took 2 hour naps from the time he was about 18 months until right before he turned 3. He doesn't nap anymore. :(

DS was 3 in April...he still needs a daily nap. He sleeps anywhere from about an hour and a half to 3, depending on how tired he is. Rarley he'll sleep less than an hour, but it does happen.

I'm surprised at 21 mos she had was still taking two naps. My own three boys took 2-3 hr naps from about 1yr til 4 yrs. At 4 they might take 2 naps in any given week if things were really hectic. I try to get all my daycare kids on one nap by around 12-14 mos and they typically sleep 2.5 hrs. If she just lost her morning nap I think 3 hrs is reasonable. Some kids do just sleep more - be grateful!! It never lasts long (napping in general, not each nap).

mine is the same as leahannpen's. 2-3 hours is normal. 2 hours at day care, and somtimes 3 at home on weekends because we tucker the wee one out usually more than his normal routine at school does.

Our friends daughter who is 3 1/2 sleeps a ridiculous amount of time I think, she will sleep 4 hours during the day and will then go to bed by 7:30 at night and sleep on thru till 8 am or 9 am. I never had a sleeper like that.

My DS who is almost 2 1/2 will normally sleep 1-2 hours during his nap. But there are some days where he doesn't nap at all....like today, but that just means early bed time.

My dd3 takes a 1 hour nap during the week, but I don't give her any on the weekends. I find that when she naps, it's impossible to get her to bed before 10 p.m. She's too hyper and doesn't need much sleep apparently.

DD11months takes one nap in the afternoon for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. DS 3 1/2 still naps for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I don't let him sleep longer than 2 hours or he'll never go to bed at night. Although he has been staying up until 11 lately:eek: so I guess it's time to get rid of the nap!!!
