Many of you have talked to or read Disneycp's posts on this board and some of you may have even read her most recent post about an adoption story, well this is the mom's side of the story. Hope you all enjoy my story.
This is the mom that Dania was talking about, and I would like to share with you my side of the story because it coincides with Dania's.
When I was 18 I got pregnant with a baby girl, and had no idea what I was going to do, because I had not lived at home since I was 15 which is another long story. But to say the least I had been in a Childrens Home from the time I was 9 or 10 up until I was 15. At that time I went to live in a foster home where I got into trouble (typical teen stuff) and wounded up in a halfway house in Dallas, at 15. It was during this time that I became pretty much a part of the street life of Dallas, although I was involved in a Christian organization that worked with street people.
It was at this time that my story begins. I was 18 and living in a halfway house, but basically on my own when I became pregnant. I had no place to go to have the baby, no family or anything. The friends that I had made through the Christian organization, I was involved with helped me to find a placed to have the baby that would find her a good home. I agreed to sign her over and went to San Antonio Texas to have her. I got to see her when she was born but that was it.
Over the years as she got older I tried to find her, going to the different talk shows but nothing came of it. Finally I said ok God if you want me to find her you will show me the way if not I will see her in heaven. It was at this time that God took over and had me go to College in Commerce, Texas which was about 45 min from where she lived with her parents. I had no idea she was even that close by and made no effort to contact her, we didnt even know each other or have classes together although we were both attending the same university for the same purpose.
It was while I was doing my first semester of Student teaching in a small school district not to far from Commerce, that I was drawn to develop a friendship with another student teacher who had not been able to make our orientation meeting a week prior. One day just before the students were going to be back in school the young lady and I went to lunch and really hit it off. For some reason I was led to share my story with her, so I did. It was at that point that she started crying saying that was her story and you guys know the rest.
The thing is it has been an unbelievable whirlwind for both of us. God has been so good in showing us that this is of him and only him. Dania has met all three of my kids and has been accepted by them and has met one of my dearest friends that was a part of the events leading up to her birth and my going to San Antonio. Everyone says the same thing about us, we look a lot alike so in our hearts we know that this is for real, just waiting on confirmation by her birth certificate.
Since the time of our first meeting we have been spending a lot of time together getting to know one another

As an adoptive dad myself, both your stories hit close to home. I really appreciate both of you sharing as such.
