I will be working on my first entry tonight... uploading pics now :)

We arrived at CSR at around noon and since my sister and her family had arrived the day before they just ordered some pizza for lunch. It was from Dominos. I know a chain however, this pizza was different from us. Here in Canada we do have Dominos but they don't put that garlic/parmesan crust on the outter edges. I really enjoyed this.

We settled into our room and then headed to Kona for dinner.

I absolutely love Kona so this was a must for us.

Our server Maykel quickly came over and took our order and then shortly brought us this:

Kona Sweet bread with macadamia nut butter

This was still warm when we got it. It was delicious with the butter. Tasted sweet and the macadamia nuts added a new dimesion of taste. Very yummy. I tried not to eat to much as I didn't want to fill up on it.

We then received our entries.

DH ordered the Teriyaki style New York Strip.

He seemed to have enjoyed it but says its definately not very memorable.

I ordered the Tuna Oscar but substituted the fried green tomatoes for mashed potatoes.

I ordered it rare as the chef recommends but wish I would have asked for it medium. Otherwise it was good. The wasabi sauce definately added a nice kick to it.

Oldest DS ordered this:

Mickey shaped ravioli. He loved it... ate it all up. He is definately our best eater. Loves his veggies and loves to try new things.

Our other DS ordered a hot dog.
082-1.jpg

Very typical for him. He is picky. Doesn't care for veggies or anything remotely healthy. I find the Disney kids menus are limited so I started to omit the "kid friendly" options so he would not live the whole week on hotdogs and chicken tenders.

YDS is 2 and barely eats therefore we just made a plate for him from our meals.

Once we finished our meals we got our desserts.

DH got the white chocolate cheesecake

I tasted this and it was good but I am a huge chocolate fan and since white chocolate isn't real chocolate I didn't really care for it. DH loves cheesecake and throughly enjoyed it.

I got the banana chocolate creme brulee

This is the dessert I look forward to every trip. When I come here this is what I order. Its a perfect balance between chocolate and banana and then the brulee'd banana on top just finishes it off.

Both boys got the ice cream sundae

They loved being able to create their own sundae.

Rating:

Service: Our server was great. He brought ODS a big glass cup with an umbrella on it making him feel special and umbrellas for the little ones. He was always ensuring our needs were met.

Food: Although I would have preferred that my tuna was alittle more cooked that has no reflection on the restaurant. The food was great and the perfect temperature.

Overall, we all enjoyed our meal and will definately come again.

Score::thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Love the creme brulee from Kona, its soooo good!

Joining in. We ate at a few of the same restaurants, so I'm curious to read what you thought of them.

Kona was also our first dinner. I think the sweet bread is food sent from heave. It's SO GOOD!

Great start. the desserts are the best part of kona for me:) want to read what you think about via napoli - i keep going back and forth on this one.

Great start! Can't wait for the next installment! :thumbsup2
Coming right up!

That bread is very good. Especially when its warm.

Stay tuned!

We started off the day with breakfast at Kona. I am not a huge breakfast fan but we visit Kona everytime we are in the world.

We always order the same thing. Dh gets the Big Kahuna

He really loves the combiniation of everything on this plate. His favorite is the pinapple macadamia nut pancakes and the mound of butter on them.

I got Tonga toast
172.jpg

It was a little under cooked this time and soggy in some spots. I always have this with the strawberry compote that they provide but I forgot to take a picture of it. The tonga toast is huge and I can never finish it but I enjoy trying ;)

ODS got his favourite.. the goofy toast.

He enjoys this breakfast soo much that before we went he asked me if we were having breakfast at Kona so he could have his favourite breakfast.

MDS got the mickey pancakes.

Again, my picky eater sticks to what he knows. LOL This pancake portion in huge for kids in comparison to the goofy toast so we gave some to YDS.

Service: Our was Rebecca. She did a good job but nothing about her stood out. Our food did come out very quickly and it was at the right temperature.

Food: This is still our favourite places to have breakfast and no matter how many times we come here I'm sure we will continue to order our usuals.

Overall rating::thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hey lizzyb we had a couple of the same dinning places as you. We are looking forward to the rest of your reviews. That Big Kahuna the your DH ordered looks like my type of meal! :thumbsup2
