A mommy, a daddy and 3 little princes...a dining review

I feel really bad for the OP, really, I do.:grouphug: But, Kathy, I do wish you'd reconsider your decision to skip Via Napoli. First of all, when I started developing my shell fish allergy I had symptoms very similar to the OP (happened two years in a row at WDW). Secondly, if you are avoiding red sauces, I wanted to say we ordered the Quattro Formaggi - mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone...and this pizza had no red sauce. We were moaning with every bite! We loved the family salad. After 26 trips to the world and more meals than I could count, this meal is FIRST on our family's priority list next year--we already have it reserved twice! Please go read the reviews on Allears.net. They are so overwhelmingly positive.

Thanks for the advice; perhaps we will put it back on the list for next year (we really want to share LeCellier with our oldest son who has never been to LC).

We started off the day with breakfast at Chef Mickeys. Alot of people are disappointed with the food here but for me breakfast is pretty hard to mess up and therefore do not have an issue. We also mainly go there for the characters not the food.

Therefore, these are the kinds of pictures that I have....

The good was decent, they had the breakfast staples along with some quiches, breakfast pizzas, hashes, and of course the mickey waffles.

We always go to Chef Mickeys because nothing beats having breakfast with the fab 5!

We've enjoyed breakfast (just not dinner).

After breakfast we headed to the Magic Kingdom. It was a beautiful day nice and sunny so we stopped for a snack.

I absolutely love these! The dark chocate is soo yummy and the ice cream is creamy a must do!

Mark will be having oen of those in three short days. :)

For dinner we headed to O'Hana. We have never been there as we had been unable to get a reservation. Since I made our ADR's 6mths out we go in :)

Once our buzzer went off we went up to the podium where the hostess greeted us and grabbed our bread which I don't seem to have a picture of. The bread was ok but once we had it on our table for a couple minutes and it was no longer warm it did turn a but hard.

Our "Cousin" Ed came over and told us how it would work. Within minutes Cousin Cliff came over and introduced himself and brought us some salad
413.jpg

I wasn't sure how this would taste because honey lime dressing didn't sound that great but it was. We all really enjoyed it.
Cliff then brought the dips/sauces
414.jpg

I didn't use any of them but DH tried the peanut one and enjoyed it.

They were coming around very quickly with the skewers. I got some chicken, steak and the shrimp.

I really enjoyed the shrimp but they were a bit hard to peel. The chicken was good and I enjoyed the sauce that it was marinated in. The steak was great, the sauce on it was very tasty. My second round of steak was not as good though because it was an end piece and it was cooked well done.

Shortly after we got the wings and potsickers.
415.jpg

By the time these rolled around we were almost full. I did try them though. The wings were very big and they were good. The potsickers were very good. I wish I had more room to eat them. They were ODS's favourite.

Shortly after again they brought the noodles and brocolli. I had a bit of the noodles and they were ok.

Then came dessert.

The kids got this:

I'm not really sure why they didn't just get the same dessert but they enjoyed it especially sprinkled with all the mickey's.

And we got the 'Ohana bread pudding a la mode with Banana Foster sauce
426.jpg

This was soo good. The warm bread pudding with the ice cream and then the banana foster sauce... pure heaven.

Service: The service started very well with all the cousin coming around to look after us and bringing tons of the skewers but I really wish they started with bringing the appys and then sides with the meats so we could have enjoyed them together. Also, towards the end of the meal we waited a little bit for the dessert and even longer for the bill. It seemed they tried to keep tables on the same schedule i.e bring dessert, give the the bills ect but it makes it hard if some are taking longer then the others.

Food: The food here was very good. We enjoyed everything. DH claimed this the best meal of the trip and a must do from here on out.

Overall: I was very pleased with O'Hana. I especially love the music and the games that they have for the kids.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I really need to get Ohana on a future visit as we've never done it.

After spending half the day at the Animal Kingdom we headed off to Downtown Disney to do some shopping and get some lunch.

We planned on going to Wolfgang Puck Express as we ate there last trip and really enjoyed it and since we were on the dining plan this time and this counts as a counterservice we were definately getting the biggest bang for our buck.

We lined up to place our order. The lady who took our order was great, not only did she not charge for YDS's milk but she also gave him a cookie for dessert at no extra charge. I would have gladly payed for it but was soo thankful that she did that.

DH ordered the Pepporoni Pizza
435.jpg

He enjoyed this and it was a huge pizza.

I got the Oven Roasted Salmon - fennel, tomatoes, arugula, roasted potatoes and horseradish cream

539.jpg

This was soo good. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the horseradish cream went so well with it and the arugula. I really enjoyed this.

ODS got the Pepporoni Pizza
436.jpg

Again, this was a very generous side pizza, especially for a kids meal.

MDS got the Macaroni and Cheese
540.jpg

I wasn't sure how he would take this as it wasn't KD..not even close but he absolutely loved it. He ate it all in record time.

For dessert DH, ODS and I all got the creme brulee
543.jpg

It was very good. It had the perfect consistency and it had the nice burnt sugar on top. ODS loved that he could get an "adult" dessert here.

MDS and YDS got a sugar cookie but I don't seem to have a picture.

Service: Because this is a counter service the server mainly just comes over to bring your meal. The waiter was nice enough to offer to take a group picture of us. Here we are:
541.jpg

Food: This was a great meal. I cannot believe that this quality of food is considered a counter service.

Overall: This quickly became on of my favorite places especially being on the dining plan.
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Another place we've never been, although I've read mixed reviews. We are actually trying Earl of Sandwich for the first time this trip, but Wolfgang's looks really good. Love the family picture. :)

We leave the day after tomorrow, but i'll try to keep up with your reviews as I'll have my laptop with me.

Thanks Kat.

O'Hana was really good as was Wolfgang. I also want to try Earl of Sandwich but not have made it there yet.

Yes, Kathy, you do need to get to Ohana some time! Grumpy has celebrated several birthdays there. Never had a bad experience! Though I prefer the old menu to the newer ones.

I haven't been to Wolfgang Puck Express in years. EoS is our frequent stop. The only downside to EoS is the noise inside and the bugs outside. It's best to eat at down times as the place can get really packed. Even if you see a long line, it moves quickly. Finding a seat can be a challenge at times.

Thanks Kat.

O'Hana was really good as was Wolfgang. I also want to try Earl of Sandwich but not have made it there yet.

I hope you get to try EoS sometime. We really like it, especially the tunamelts and the Wisconsin cheddar soup. During the holidays they have a turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry. Just keep in mind all sandwiches are hot. So if a child orders peanut butter and jelly, it will be toasted in the oven. They will not make exceptions and serve it cold.

WPE is such a great value CS :thumbsup2

You have a beautiful family, so nice that the server offered to take your picture :goodvibes

Marketplace and yes I believe they do.

Do you remember what it was near? We usually go to the one at the West Side because, for some reason, we have never been able to find the one at the Marketplace. The salmon does look really good. Thinking I'm going to try that.

It did seem quite busy when we walked by, I'm sure we will make it there soon.

Thank you. Yes that was very nice of her.

Its near Earl of Sandwhich. It was very oood. I was impressed.

For dinner we headed back to Downtown disney for our dinner at Raglan Rd

Shortly after we seated and our order was taken our waiter brought us over the soda bread with the dip

439.jpg

This was different but very good. The dip was sweet tasting. We all enjoyed it.

For our entrees DH and I both ordered the Serious Sirloin Steak - 10oz sirloin topped with Irish whiskey glaze, and drizzled with fresh basil oil. Served with mashed potatoes and topped with crispy fried onion strings.
445.jpg

Both DH and I ordered the steak medium and unfortunately it came out well. This kinda ruined the meal for us as we don't like our meat overcooked. The mashed potatoes where a bit cold and not very smooth. This was a bit of a disappointment.

The boys got the Fish and Chips

444.jpg

These were very good. The fish was very tasty and it was not oily tasting at all.

For dessert DH and I both got Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding.
446.jpg

This was very good but the portion was way to big but that is a good problem to have ;)

The boys got plain ol' ice cream

Service: Our server was not very attentive, he didn't come over to check how the meals were in fact we barely saw him.

Food:I had read great reviews about this place but unfortanely my meal did not do it for me. However, there were tons of other items on the menu that sounded great and we therefore would go back.

Overall: This was definately not our best meal but the menu is promising so we will likely give it another go.
:thumbsup2

After loving our lunch the previous day we decided to go to Wolfgang Puck Express again.

DH ordered the same pizza and the boys ordered the same entrees as well. I however decided to try something new. So I ordered the Bacon wrapped Meatloaf

480.jpg

This was soo good. The meatloaf was perfect and I loved the onions rings on top.

Desserts we all got the creme brulee again but DH decided to try the cheesecake
481.jpg

It was just a plain cheesecake with the bruleed sugar on top. He said it was good but it was not the best hes had.

For dinner we ate at the Pepper Market. Again no pics.

DH ordered a burger and was disappointed with it. It was pre-cooked and then reheated. DH said his was cold in the inside.

I got the Chicken Quesadilla. This very good. Tons on cheese oozing out and the portion was very generous.

The kids both got the spaghetti and meatballs. The enjoyed this alot and it was a nice fiilling meal.

That Bacon wrapped Meatloaf looks like my type of meal, yummmmm.
