Forgive me, Mickey...
You see, it was a beautiful evening in May of 2003 and I talked my family in returning that night to see the only Spectromagic parade while we were in town...we were all exhausted and had made the mistake of staying off-property (needless to say, this particular evening caused us to swear to only stay at a Disney resort from that trip forward)...
We found a decent spot on the curb of the hub...about five rows of people back from the rope, but it was decent. My husband disappears on a quest for nourishment. Our 2 DDs (five and three at that time) are happily sitting in their double stroller you let us rent from your MK when they finally see their darling father return victorious with two souvenir tubs of popcorn. In her excitement, the little one promptly drops one of the buckets and deposits all but a handful of the popcorn on the street. Tears are dried, all is not lost...we have the parade to begin in just a couple of minutes.
Our oldest princess decides at the very moment the music begins that she must, absolutely must, visit one of your restrooms...we turn around to see a mass of humanity all around us. What to do? Where to go? You see, in our tired state, we had neglected to bring our park maps with us and were quite overwhelmed by the crowds of people surrounding us. I look at my DH, prince that he is, and went to work.
We travel everywhere with a small, lovely quilt my DD has had since birth...at least everywhere there is a chance we will want her to fall asleep on the journey (we were thinking it would come in handy on the journey out of the magic)...I promptly draped it over the top of the double stoller and instruct my DD to relieve her bladder in the empty popcorn bucket...she reluctantly did, I promptly put the lid on and it seemed no one around was the wiser. The parade began, the fireworks were watched, and all the while, we guarded this bucket to keep it from overturning in the street. As we gathered our belongings, I planned to deposit the bucket in the nearest garbage container. We nestled the girls in their stroller and as we were walking (or inching) toward the exit, I stopped to tie my shoe (not easy in the exiting crowd, to say the least). I had put down the offensive bucket when a man swoops in and says, "Look! Someone left their bucket! Can't we get free refills on this?", snatches the bucket and is swallowed by the crowd before I can even comprehend what has happened...he had stolen our bucket of pee!! To this day I wonder what horror that man must have encountered as he opened his bucket found in "good" fortune!
I have read the stories of children being allowed to pee in the lines and have seen and felt the resulting disgust among the wonderful DIS community...Please, Mickey, Please wonderful people of the DIS, forgive me! And sir, you can keep the bucket!

That is probably the funniest story I've read here! Thanks for sharing!

And yes! We forgive you!! What else could you have done?! I applaud you for the quick thinking & solution to the dilemna! When my boys were all younger, I always carried an empty peanutbutter jar in my van for those unexpected emergencies!!

Can you imagine that guys face and the face of who he was with

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
 :scared: :scratchin  :rolleyes1 :scared1:

HA HA!

Very quick thinking...

My dd6 would have BURST before I could talk her into that!!

What a riot! We were at a Spectromagic one evening in May 2003....Thank goodness my husband isn't a scavenger! Your funny story reminds me of a scene in Dumb and Dumber... I think it was the cop in that movie and he didn't even notice anything! Great story!

I hope if he went to get his free refill, he looked inside first!

I hope he didn't LOL.

OMG!!!

You have quite a way with words!

I can't even imagine the look on his face when he opened up that bucket----eeeeewwwww! :earboy2:

EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! That was a good one. LOL Uh, can you get free refills on those buckets??? I'm serious.

I will never look at a MK popcorn bucket the same.:teeth:

I have been having a not so good day. DD6 and DS3 have been fighting non-stop, DD9 months is getting teeth and terribly crabby, only wants to be held and carried around (all 21 pounds of her). The house is a mess, I'm trying to do laundry, make dinner and clean up the house before we leave early Sunday morning to visit my parents for a week. I decided to take a break to check out the boards and I read your story. I laughed out loud, hard!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks for reminding me that parenting is not always such a pain in the butt! It was the pick-me-up I needed! :p

That's just hilarious! Tinkbell, I'm with you, I don't think I'll ever be able to look at one of those popcorn buckets without thinking of this story! Thanks for sharing! Oh, I forgive you too!::yes::

:rotfl:

That was hysterically funny!

I can't imagine what possesses people sometimes.

I mean, I can see thinking it was litter and picking it up and putting it in a trash can (a nice thing to do), but that??? Whoa! A classic example of why your mom always told you to leave stuff you find on the street alone. You don't know where it's been.
