A mistake to buy MNSSHP on Halloween?

Hi, We're Americans living in Dubai. We are taking the kids to Disney at the end of October and I bought tickets to the Halloween party so they could have the 'American Halloween' experience. Is it going to be crazy crowds that night? Should I buy another set of tickets too for a different night? If so, when would be a low crowd night? Thanks!

The last couple of years most of the Halloween parties have sold out, especially the ones in the latter part of October. You can still have a great night if you have a solid plan in place. You'll definitely want to know what your priorities are because you will not be able to do everything.

It will be a sold out party. But it's what you make it. Have a plan that's flexible. Prioritize what's important to you. Join the Official MNSSHP thread. Many seasoned pros sharing their experience and tips and many MNSSHP newbies learning.

One good thing is that almost everyone will be in costume. The earlier parties tend to have a higher percentage of Guests in everyday clothing.

The parties will likely sell out anyway. We chose the day after for our party because I wanted to experience the Halloween festivities at the resorts. I do not regret my decision but I think it would have been more fun on Halloween rather than the day after.

We have attended on the 31st twice and twice on other days. Never had issues on the 31st, never had a plan, we went with the flow and never stressed about seeing everything. We have a better time when we just go at our own pace. Crowds are less that on regular park days IMHO. ENJOY!

My wife and I went to the party on halloween in 2015. We had a GREAT time. It really depends what interests you about the party. We didn't have a front row seat for the shows, but we really enjoyed them either way. Same with the parades. We walked around, had a dole whip, got a photo with Jafar. You can have run depending what youre interested in. Didn't feel THAT busy, at least not compared to a regular MK night in July!

We went dressed up as Joy and Anger from Inside Out, it was great.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. My sister and her fiance did the Halloween party on Halloween night in 2013 and they had a great time!

We like to do the party the night before halloween and then do trick-n-treating halloween night at our resort, 2 for 1:)

This is a pretty great idea right here, so long as you aren't hung up on attending on halloween.

It will be a sold out party as others have said however all parties late in October sell out. We did two parties in 2013 Halloween week, one was Halloween night. It was amazing to be there on Halloween (we are from Australia and we don't celebrate Halloween here at all) It was busy so we just prioritized what we wanted to do. If you could manage it, two parties would ensure you could get almost everything done. Some characters will have long times (sometimes over an hour for the 7 Dwarves, Jack and Sally if they are meeting) so you need to factor that in.

I think you will have a great night. If you just want them to experience Halloween, then I think you will enjoy just doing the party on Halloween night. If you want to try to meet each of the rare characters and see the parade and fireworks and stage shows, then you would want to do 2 nights; both of which would probably be sold out.

We did it on Halloween night and it was a TON of fun and we would love to go back. I think it will be a great experience for your kids to get a good glimpse into the fun of Halloween in the states. They can see the parade/fireworks and go trick or treating.

If you dress up as a family, you can get some really cute pictures! I'm sure it's going to be a memory y'all cherish for a long time.

We went to the party on Halloween a few years back and had an amazing time! MNSSHP is one of the best memories we have of Disney, and we go every year. You will have a great time!
