That is my dream. It usually looks worse after I clean it.

What do you use and does it leave streaks? I swear, Windex is full of it. No streaks my butt!

Try using newspaper instead of paper towels. Also, ammonia mixed with water works but I don't remember the ratio.

I first read the title as a mirror without steaks. took me a minute.

I know some people swear by using newspaper. I just use my husband. I don't know how he does it but he can do it far better than I can.

I put a capful of Snuggle or Downy in warm water. Wipe the glass off with a dishcloth and then take a dry one and rub it dry. Not one streak ever. It will look really cloudy at first before you use the dry towel. I do this for dusting too. Makes the house smell great too.

I use method window cleaner and newspaper. :)

I've tried using newspaper but it leaves black ink all over my hands! :crazy2:

These days I like Windex wipes followed quickly by a paper towel. Before those were around I used Windex spray with a paper towel. I'm a creature of habit and would hate streaks myself. (The only time I get streaks is if I buy the cheap window cleaner.)

Try half vinegar or even bottle of water with about a teaspoon of cornstarch in it shake it up (need to shake bottle everytime you use it to mix the cornstarch back in with the water ) Believe me this works wonders on mirrors an windows both.

If really dirty might stiff have to actually clean the window or mirror 1st then use the cornstarch mix.

Much less wiping too if ya spray your rag or what ever you cleaning with too then dry with a dry one.

Microfiber cloths. Paper towels streak for me and I've had no great success with newspapers (especially when I do my car windows). The microfiber cloths have worked the best.

Having said that, Windex seems a bit streaky. I used to use Glass Plus, which IMO, was better but I can't find it any more. I've recently started using a product called Invisible Glass. It's in a spray can and comes out almost like a foam. It's pretty streak free.

I've heard that when using newspaper to use an older paper, not new one to reduce the black streaks.
That being said, I use a few drops of dish soap in a sink of water. Wash it down with a clean rag and squeegie it dry. I do the same for windows.

Old home: plain water. Yep. We bought some water filtration system like total suckers. Not that washing windows was the reason--but because the water had lots taken out of it--you could use plain water.

New home--don't have that and don't plan to buy it. So the other day, I used dish soap and water because I had no window cleaner.

No streaks either way. Not sure if that is a fluke. But see if you can use something other than "glass cleaner"

also--using newsprint with the glass cleaner helps. And I rub hard. Streaks will get left if I am not Firm with whatever I am wiping off.

This is what I use. I found it at Walmart in the auto detailing section.

Try newspaper, brown paper towels (you know the ones in schools that absorb practically nothing - work GREAT! used them at photo school on black glass), and panty hose.

Spray, wipe off, then run one of the aformentioned over it and rub the heck out of it. You'll see shine for weeks!

Use newspaper to clean down the mirror after you spray works. It doesn't matter what you spray with - vinegar/water; windex etc. The newspaper will break up after a while so you might need quite a few sheets to clean.

These days, I'm doing away with the chemicals and have been using the Enjo microfibres with water for cleaning. And their cloths work a treat!

The trick is to use one cloth for cleaning, with a little water, and use a different (dry) one for drying off the excess water.

I've never had a problem with windex or any other glass cleaner, just using paper towels. After the first pass with the cleaner, go over it one more time with a dry paper towel and it should get rid of any streaks.
