Help! It's our first time to DL (Oct. 22-27) and every day I have new questions, so here goes...

What's the best way to get to DL from John Wayne airport? (don't want to rent a car)

What's the weather like in late October? (very warm in South Louisiana even in late Oct.)

How is the kids club in Grand Californian? (3 kids)

Where can I find menu's on line for the DL and CA restaurants?

Is there a Disney outlet store near by? (I know, I know, too cheap to buy in the Kingdom)

Which Character breakfast is the best?

Where is the best place for lunch and or dinner?

I guess that will be all for now. I'm just getting too excited!

28 days to go!

Yvette

I almost forgot to say thanks in advance for the info!

As for the weather I would say mid 70's and maybe up to the mid 80's for the high's most of the time. There is a Disney clearance center located in fullerton on Orangethorpe Avenue between Harbor Blvd & Lemon. I'm not sure of the exact address but if you are coming from Disneyland go North on Harbor Blvd past the 91 fwy and make a right on Orangethorpe and turn right at the first light into the shopping center, the store will be straight ahead to the left. Have a nice trip!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try a few of these. :)

If you're looking for a shuttle service, try either the AIRPORT BUS or SUPER SHUTTLE from Orange County airport to the Disneyland resorts. The Airport Bus runs on a regular schedule and Super Shuttle runs basically 24 hours a day.

Late October is variable...could be in the 80s or could be in the 60s. Just check the weather a couple of days before you leave. No matter what, the evenings are COOL so bring jackets and jeans.

Pinocchio's Workshop in the Grand Californian is very fun, my daughter (now 8) enjoyed an evening there. They have games, crafts, toys, movies and other organized activities.

There's a thread here about the closest Disney outlets : Disney Outlet Thread

My personal favorite character breakfast is Goofy's Kitchen.

Hope that helps a little! :)

Congratulations on your upcoming trip! I have been to DL many times, but last time was '98, so I'm way overdue! To make up for it, I'm staying at GC. I'll be there Oct. 8-12, so if I find any additional answers to your questions, I'll be sure to post.

For now:
* www.mouseplanet.com seems to have the most comprehensive list of menus for DL/DCA/DD, and resorts. It's a little hard to find, you need to scroll to the bottom where it says, "Disneyland, DL Paris, etc." and click on one of the restaurant related links (there's 2, I think it's the one towards the middle). Then on the next screen, there's a bunch of links to the left, and if you scroll to the bottom of the list, it says something like "restaurant resource."
* I've heard great things about Goofy's Kithcen in DL Hotel. They have character dinners too, which I heard are good as well. I had a GREAT time at the character breakfast at the Plaza Inn in Disneyland the last time I was there. The interaction was great.
* DL doesn't have many sit down restaurants (only 2), but Blue Bayou is a must!! There is nothing like it in WDW. Also, lunch is much cheaper than dinner. DCA has a lot of sit down restaurants, as does DD and the resort hotels. I think you should be able to find something suitable to your taste and budget. We enjoyed one of the places in New Orleans Square, I think it's called the French Market, or something like that. They have soups in bread bowls which are delicious. One of our favorite snacks is at the Mint Julep bar where they have fritters which are great.

Hope that helps! If you have other things you'd like me to try to find out about at GC, post within the next week, and I'll make an effort to find out!

Happy Planning!;)

Have fun!!

Thank y'all so much! I don't think I'll get a thing done today, except checking out all the web-sites. DH and I can't wait.

27 days till we're there!

Thanks,
Yvette
:D

Goofys kitchen is the best character meal hands down. (high energy)

Super shuttle is fine - but for a family of 5 you might price out a cab

Kids club in GC is just for GC guests and there are age restrictions.

Weather should be beautiful! (compared to Louisiana, we have no weather:p )

Have fun...I am envious.

I'd love to here more about the concierge service at the GC. Any other comments?
