I was reading a thread over on the DVC forum a little while ago and someone had Walt Disney's famous qoute about remembering it was all started by a mouse.
It made me think we should send Michael Eisner a note, reminding him that it was truly all started by a Disney. A couple of them in fact.
I know that he alone hasnt caused the downfall of a company the size of Disney. But the fingers are pointed his way. The closing of Animation in Fla. is another nail in Disneys coffin. Soon it will be in Ca. Once again he seems to be resting on what HIS past has done for the Co. and not what brought the Co. to where it was before he was hired in 84. Sure it was in a shambles then, but it was a strong Co. before those yrs., and animation and theme parks were 2 main depts. that Disney depended on.
Times have changed. But people will still pay for good quality entertainment. That means IMO a good story with good animation, and continuing to offer great vacation destinations that people of all ages will enjoy. Both of these were Walt and Roy's ideas that were successful then and will remain successful.
I wanted to start this thread with hopes of getting some positive ideas to maybe pass on to Roy and Stanley in hopes of turning things around.
Please give thoughts, ideas and reflections and lets throw in some Pixie dust too for good measure.
