Weather ~ cold, wet and even colder

A Merry Mickey Christmas INDEX

Woke up this morning to torrential rain - what a start to the New Year! I still enjoyed my early morning cuppa out on the balcony although there were no joggers to watch today!

We have visited a Disney park every year since our first trip to WDW in 2004 and decided that we would do all four parks today which would cover the year 2010!

We packed up, checked out and put our case in the car as we'd decided to brave the weather and walk up to Epcot. We stopped to admire the Christmas tree and village in the lobby

before going in the Beach Club to look at their gingerbread carousel.

Stormalong Bay was unsurprisingly deserted - I felt sorry for the lifeguard.

Epcot was equally deserted! and don't we look total prats in our ponchos! :lmao:

We rode Soarin' for the last time and had some breakfast (burgers and fries :rotfl: ) in the Electric Umbrella.

We took a last stroll round World Showcase, this time rather than a cat Danielle bought a lucky owl in Japan and I bought a new dreamcatcher in Canada. Then we took a friendship boat to DHS. Unfortunately the wait time for Toy Story mania was too long so we went in One Man's Dream again - I can spend hours in here.

Then we took a friendship boat back to the Yacht Club and drove to Animal Kingdom. It had stopped raining by now and the sun was trying to come out so we called in to Yak and Yeti's counter service for a drink and some of that delicious mango pie.

We drove back to the Comfort Suites, packed as much as we could, then had a rest for a couple of hours before getting back in the car to drive to Magic Kingdom. We couldn't get over how much the temperature had dropped in the last couple of hours and had to go back to the room to get our coats as it was so cold.

We usually prefer to take the ferry but it was too cold tonight so we took the monorail and arrived just in time to see the end of the show on the stage. I think over the course of the holiday we've managed to see it all but just in instalments rather than in one session!

We headed over to Tomorrowland Terrace as we had booked the Wishes Dessert Party as a treat for our final night.

Day16_22.jpg

We really enjoyed this. Your table is already allocated for you with your name and Mickey confetti (!) and there was a huge array of delicious desserts and hot and cold drinks to enjoy. There was a photopass photographer there and heaters had been set up because it was so cold. We could just see the floats of SpectroMagic going past and when Holiday Wishes started we had a great view. Some people preferred to stay at their tables to watch but there was plenty of room for everyone to stand up at the railing if they wished to. As Tinker Bell flew over she gave us all a huge wave.

The party is expensive but in my opinion totally worth it for a special treat and beats hanging around in the cold any day. After it was over we decided to head over to Toontown to see Mickey and Minnie's houses one last time. I liked the Christmas touches they'd added.

Most people seemed to go home after Holiday Wishes even though the park was open until 1am but we decided to make the most of our last night and hit the rides. Nearly everything was a walk-on and I know in the end we got so fed up of riding Big Thunder Mountain that we said never again :rotfl2: OK never again until the next holiday!

We eventually left the park with very heavy hearts and drove straight to Walmart to get a new suitcase as we were a bit near the weight limit. We got a bargain Samsonite set with a large case and matching carry on which were perfect for Samantha as she was off to uni in the autumn.

Then back home for our last sleep. :sad1: :sad1:

Amazing tour of the world you have stamina in bundles elaine:worship:What a fab evening but always sad to say goodbye
