A Merry Mickey Christmas INDEX

Although we woke up early we decided to take it easy this morning seeing as Danielle had felt unwell yesterday. She was feeling much better but decided to forgo breakfast in favour of an extra half-hour in bed, typical teen! ;) The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast consisting of a selection of cereals, porridge, hard-boiled eggs, plain and Mickey Mouse shaped waffles, toast, bagels, scones and gravy, muffins, pastries, donuts, fresh and tinned fruit, fruit juices, tea and coffee. At weekends they also have scrambled eggs, grits and these delicious little sausages.

We planned to hit all four parks before our cruise on the 20th as we realised they would be extremely manic afterwards and we'd decided to go to Hollywood Studios first. We got there about 11am and, after changing our vouchers for tickets, headed straight for Toy Story Mania.

It was showing a 40 minute wait but was actually only 5. This ride got a :thumbsup2 from all of us and the theming is really good.

Next it was off to watch Voyage of the Little Mermaid which is a lovely show, then we rode Tower of Terror and got fastpasses for later.

We had an ADR for lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe. I can't believe I was so stupid as to forget to take photos :headache: put it down to my excitement at being back at Disney!

Bryan was the only one who fancied a starter, he had Shrimp Cocktail followed by Cousin Eric's Char-grilled Chicken Sandwich with fries. Samantha, Danielle and Francesca all had Fish Sandwich with fries and I had Mom's Old-Fashioned Pot Roast which was so good. The girls had all had milkshakes which are filling and I was stuffed after the pot roast ~ you forget how huge the portions are, don't you :rotfl: ~ so only Bryan wanted a dessert, he had a Boston Cream Cupcake. Our server Adrienne was great fun and had Francesca running all over the show doing errands and odd jobs for her!

We wanted to watch the Block Party Bash parade so browsed the shops until it was time. It was a really miserable day weather-wise but at least the rain held off while the parade passed.

We went to watch the Beauty and the Beast show which was lovely as always but it didn't seem right without Four For a Dollar to open. :sad2:

Next was Tower of Terror again, in the dark this time :yay: followed by Muppet Vision, we all love this show.

Then it was time to watch the turning on of the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights.

There were approximately 30 Hidden Mickeys within the lights ~ we found about 10! :rotfl:

We waited to watch the lights dance again but unfortunately there were technical difficulties with the snow but no problem, we'll come another night.

We stopped on the way out for some popcorn and a photo with the Sorcerer's Hat

Tomorrow ~ Animal and Magic Kingdoms

:yay: I can put faces to the names now Elaine. I recognised you of course :)
They're really nice photos of you all, something to look back at when you need a Florida fix.

I am so jealous as we haven't done Xmas yet. The Osbourne lights look fantastic and it must be lovely to have the snow ( not that you got any that night!). As we normally go in February, we never get to do the rides in the dark as the parks close earlier.......another excuse to go back.

Looks like you had a good first day. Can't wait for day 2.

Your pictures are lovely Elaine:thumbsup2

We can never find all the hidden mickey's either!!:lmao:
