A MDE positive

I've been thinking about positives in regards to all the new things at Disney and I don't know if I ever mentioned my one good experience with MDE regarding dining.

I make ADR's, but this last trip we tweaked them quite a bit using MDE. If we had a change of plans and decided to go to a different park or DTD instead of the park our ADR was in, I got on MDE and saw what was available for where we wanted to go. We changed ADR's on the bus and once on the boat going from FW to WS. :)

But I guess now with FP+, deciding to go to a different park at the last minute isn't really possible.

So, maybe my positive isn't such a positive, after all. :guilty:
 
Since I never change my ADRs while there, I've never considered this feature. How does the new cancellation policy come into play with same day cancellations like you've noted? Are you able to avoid the $10 per person fee?

We were there in October, before the ridiculous cancellation fee went into effect (which I completely forgot about). *sigh*

So I guess you can't even do that anymore.

LOL. A for effort. This would have been an awesome aspect of MDE had Disney not made it cost $50 for a party of 5.

I'll try.

MDE was great (when it worked). We really enjoyed being able to see ride times from wherever we were to determine if it was worth crossing the park for. We enjoyed the concepts behind MDE, like being able to change your plans subject to availability, unfortunately the execution was poor. We had days and days go by where the app wouldn't work for us at all, apparently this was a common issue those few days. Once they finally get it working properly and consistently, the app itself is a positive.

We had so many problems with the App we couldn't get it to cancel our reservation, after calling to cancel within the 24 hours we were told it was our problem their App didn't work.

We went down to concierge and she took the charge off, but I was prepared to show up and order a drink!
 
A huge positive - you can change your fast pass time if you discover that the original time no longer works for some reason.

Oooo boy, that would have made my blood boil!

The app was great for us for checking wait times and changing dining plans, not much else.
 
How did you change the dining times? We were stuck on Test Track broken down for a bit and I was trying to change our dinner so we wouldn't miss it or be late. I was able to see available times and it would let me change the size of our party, but I couldn't figure out how to change the time. I ended up calling the main dining # as I couldn't find a # directly to the restaurant and they assured me I had a 15 minute grace period (which we didn't make either). I have to say the folks at Marakkesh were great. We literally ran all the way from Test Track to Morocco and were 30 mins. late. I kept apologizing and they kept telling me not to worry, it was fine, please relax madam, it's ok, you are here to enjoy your dinner, no worries. Just wondering for future reference how to change the time or if it's actually possible to do from the app.
