A manly alternative to those Vera Bradley bags

I've noticed lots of you ladies are really in to the Vera Bradley stuff. That doesn't quite cut it so well for those of us with the Y-chromosome. Full cargo pockets get to be annoying, backpacks tend to be a bit too cumbersome.

For my fellow guys out there (or the less girly-girls), I present to you the Maxpedition Versipacks. Especially the Fatboy models.

They're designed for the military and thus designed for both durability and long-term wear. Various shapes and sizes for the amount of junk you'd like to tote around, and a variety of masculine colors

The OP's bag looks similar to the Baggalinni messenger bag. My DH wears the Baggalinni messenger bag in black and swears by it. He detests anything that clings around his neck and he find that the nylon fabric strap lays more on his shoulder than coming up on his neck. We all carry our Baggalinni even DD9 and find that they are very comfortable. We love being hands free, everyone can carry their own stuff esp. jackets/rain gear and no one is a pack mule.

You can also check out your local Army Navy Store....they usually have "map cases" that work and come in army green, or black....they also have messenger type bags, again in black....and I know, because I've bought 4 of them for myself...

I like the manliness of the bag but I typically try to color coordinate my fanny pack with my socks and my foam visor and that camoflauge scheme is really going to be a problem.

Now, if it came in a nice sea green or maybe a creme-de-mint... that might work.

Looks like the Fatboy Versipack comes in different colors. Black, Green, Khaki, Foliage green, and two camo colors. It goes on your shoulder and also has a loop that attaches to your belt to ease the load and keep it steady.

The black one actually looks normal.. with a hint of awesome.
