A Magical Express Question

Our flight into Orlando has changed from the time we originally booked. I had made dining reservations for that evening @ Chef Mickey's. I can't get another time for dining there the whole time we are at WDW. So now we have to go right from the Orlando Airport to the Contemporary with no time to stop at the resort we are stayin at.

The question is: Can we take the Magical Express to a different hotel then the one we are staying at?

The answer that everyone gives to this question is no.

DME is based on your hotel reservation, they take you to your resort so you can get checked in, they know where to deliver your luggage and you can get your KTTW card etc etc. You can call DME and see if they can redirect you, but expect no to be the answer, as many, many people would like to go somewhere other then their resort upon arrival.

May have to look into renting a car or getting a cab / car service.

When others have asked this question (which is very frequently) the answer has always been no. They scan your voucher at the airport and then direct you onto the correct bus. Just before you get on the bus, the voucher is scanned again to both count the number of people on that bus and to verify you are on the right bus.

Something else to consider is that if you are on the DDP, you must check into your resort first in order to get your KTTW card that has your dining credits on it.

I know a couple of years ago, our flight was changed, which was going to make us late getting to Cape May. We called DME direct and asked if there was any way we could be put on the Beach Club bus at the airport and was told no, that Disney required them to take us to the resort to which our vouchers were for. Now if you are on a DME bus that makes multiple stops there is nothing to keep you from getting off at the first stop and then taking a bus to MK, then walking over to the Contemporary. Again though this would only work if you are not on the DDP and didn't need to check in to get your dining credits.

Smaller carry ons wouldnt be an issue, but actual luggage would not be allowed on other disney transportation. I would still plan on another plan or forego the ADR.
