A magic band question....

We haven't bought theme park tickets yet but have picked our magic band colors (well I haven't, can't decide, lol). I don't know how this works...do we have to buy the theme parks tickets first before the bands can be sent to us? I'm assuming so, don't they have to be programmed first with the FP+ and whatnot? Also...our little one will be 2.5 years old when we go and I was surprised that he'll get a MB too. Does he really have to wear it? I don't see him wanting to keep it on....any input?

You don't have to buy the tickets first, you just connect them to your account and they will be on your Magic Band :)

You don't ever have to have tickets to get a MB.

The little one will get one. I saw plenty of itty bitties wearing them; there's no reason for it, so who knows why people put them on the littles, but they did.

You just have to have tickets attached to your account to make fast pass plus selections.

Nothing is stored on the magic band. The band has an id that links to your MDE account. You add tickets, resort stays, FP+ to your MDE account. The band then accesses the account. Any changes to your account would be accessed by the band.

For this same reason, it is possible to use multiple bands. Currently I have two bands and will be getting two more for my upcoming stay. If I want, I can switch back and forth between all four bands during the trip. The MDE account lists all of the bands and I can choose which are active.

My DD1 insisted on wearing her band like her siblings. Yes nothing on it but she wanted one to. She would even try to scan it.

You just want to link your park tickets 60 days in advance so you can make your FP+ reservations in advance. They are reusable.
My 2.5 year old wore hers because she wants to be like her big sis! So I was grateful to have it!! But the CM at the gate did need to be told that she was 2 and no ticket was linked to it!

Probably because they are like my 2 year old GD. I can't wear any bracelets without her wanting it too. I am glad she will get one because I didn't want to give her mine with charging privileges. Imagine that 2 year old melt down:scared1:

I was talking about *babies*. Not 2 year olds. Not 1 year olds. Babies.

Don't get me wrong, I saw 1 and 2 year olds wearing them, too, but I was meaning babies by "itty bitties".
