A little worried about solo- expenses, dining and rides

Thank you SO MUCH to all of you!!!
I'd like to answer each one of you individually but it's after midnight here so I promise to do so tomorrow ::yes::
I'm writing just to let you all know- I booked a trip!!!!!!!!!!! My first solo trip!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:jumping1: party: :disrocks:

I love you guys!!!!
Yes!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I get your concern about doing this solo. I am an introvert and going solo in October, which took some guts to do. But I can see your fear even more so since you're traveling internationally to get there and, therefore, more expense. I am SOOOO glad you booked the trip and I felt the same exhilaration when I booked mine a few weeks ago. If you are there the last week in October, I will be there as well so we can say hello. Above all, let me just say, YOU ROCK! You are an inspiration to upcoming solo Disney-ers like me. What I have come to learn since booking my trip alone is: we'll have FUN! We can do whatever we want, whenever we want to and not have to depend on someone else's mood. We also do not have to worry about someone else having a good time. Since booking, I started a blog about going solo to WDW. See if it helps :-)

Happy upcoming Disney birthday!!!! I am actually arriving on the 24th and staying until the 29th (checkout)! Would be great to meet up. One thing that has helped me, after booking my trip, was choosing some dining experiencing and booking those ahead of time. I actually did a week calendar (with Disney decorations and all...lol), so I can plan my stay, leaving room for whim yet feeling safe in the planning. I am only doing WDW and EPCOT, with park hopper, so when one park closes early I go to the other. Part of your stay you'll notice the Mickey-Not-So-Scary-Halloween, which closes the Magic Kingdom at 7 PM (unless you have ticket for the event, which I refused to do...again, I am an introvert. lol)

There are some restaurants I have gone to before, like Tokyo Disney in EPCOT, and one new one I am trying, the Cinderella's Royal Table, which was scary to book both for the cost and ambiance, but since it will be dinner at 11 PM, it may be relatively quiet by then (I hope). My partner refused to go with me and since I know it is not his cup of tea, I figured either I go alone or risk not going to WDW for a long time. Life is too short, so to loosely quote from Snow White: Hi Ho, off to Disney alone I go!

I think it's great that you're not waiting for anyone and just going to have some fun on your own! I was supposed to go with a friend who bailed on me pretty last minute so I decided to take a leap of faith (in myself) and go for a solo.

I've got me a (non-decorated) Excel sheet calendar with all my info on it- ADR times, prices, parks, etc. And I even booked MNSSHP AND Club Villain AND La Nouba!!!! :cloud9:

Now I'm trying to figure out what to do on my b-day and still trying to get some ADRs- either to Cindy's Royal Table like you, or BOG dinner (had lunch there last time) or maybe Cali Grill brunch which looks AMAZING! :-)

I would go totally crazy for your birthday and do something like Cindy's Table! Not only that, let your resort know you are there for your birthday and get a Birthday button to wear! You'll be treated royally at the parks.

That is great about the Excel sheet! I am an artist so MS Word and Excel are very alien to me, but I did do my calendar on Word. I go back and forth and add things as I go along. I went from being a bit scared about going alone to being totally excited. And I am told the crowds should not be completely crazy that time of year. We'll find out..... And this is my first time going since they instituted the MagicBand, so I am totally excited about that! Since they only give you a basic one, I went silly and got a Mickey Sorcerer one from the Disney Store!

You're awesome! I know you'll have a great time!! :-)
I'm an artist too (sort of) but I know some very basic Excel and I find it's easier for me to navigate when building a calendar.
The Magic Band is pretty great, by the way! This will be my third time using it!

Oh, and about the birthday button- I was thinking of not wearing one so as not to call too much attention to my solo self. I'm especially worried about singing in restaurants and on buses- both happened to me while wearing a button a couple of trips ago! Luckily I wasn't alone so it was easier... Would you wear a birthday button on a solo?

HAHA...I can imagine! When I went for my birthday back in 2011, my partner, who knows I am an introvert, made sure no one there knew it was my birthday. The sad part is I am an introvert who does not want the attention, but feel left out when I get none. Weird, I know! I get enough attention for my work, so at times I enjoy blending in and 'disappearing.' But my work also makes it so I cannot get the Memory Maker :(

I am a professional musician and (not professional) graphic artist. I have always found the Microsoft programs extremely non-intuitive, so I can manage an Excel sheet for the business part of my work, but only basically. After that, other people have to do it for me. The Word calendar I downloaded from on-line and then added Disney decorations to it, but press one wrong key and half of it moves off to the next block. LOL.
