I just need the smallest amount of sympathy, please! My family is too busy laughing at me, out of love I'm sure, but I really could use the sympathy of people who have "been there."
Here is my sad tale, it has ups, downs, love and love lost, a true tale of gardening woe....... (I may be getting carried away)
*ahem* I'm just in my new house for a year and now I'm ready to hit the planting hard before winter sets in. On Saturday I hit four nurserys and come home with my haul. The thrill of the hunt! *bliss* I walk around with my new babies and place them around, then they move again, and then I think it's right but I leave them over night.
Sunday, garden day! I'm working away, having a great time. Planting the new guys, moving some that came with the house around to what I think will be better locations all of that. Happy day. Then, it happens......
I'm down to my last project, a flat of prostrate mondo grass (Latin name: Baby Mondo Grass
) I get a few in the ground, terribly pot bound too, in my excitment to get an entire flat, I forgot to check, anyway, I feel a little pinch but ignore it, and another and think, what??
You guys are way ahead of me here aren't you? I drop my plant and my hands are COVERED in ants!!!! EEEEWWWWW! I run over to the fountain and souse my hands to get them all off. The pain is terrible! I run inside and take some Benedryl to try and stop the swelling and keep them under the kitchen sink for a while. Then I transfer to the frozen peas for the rest of the night.
Now, I have over 20 ant bites on my hands. I ich and hurt and I look rather like a leper. I can't believe how bad my hands hurt! My sweet husband finished planting things for me and then put all my tools away. But, man, how long is it going to hurt this bad? I mean, that was Sunday, for heaven's sake!
So anyway, I just wanted a little sympathy, please, because I've got to tell y'all, I'm way past pitiful.
