A little story about life and DVC.....

Congratulations! Much Pixie Dust for 2014 & years to come.

Very uplifting/ encouraging post.:)

Congratulations! glad to hear things have worked out for you & your family. Many more happy memories for you to enjoy @ disney , the most happiest place on earth. :cheer2:pixiedust:

Love your story! Our DVC is definitely about family memories and something for us to look forward and spend time together.

We have good friends that, during a rough financial time, gave up their timeshares (not DVC). Every time we talk with them about our trips to a DVC resort, they talk about how much they regret giving that up.

I'm glad you were able to keep it! Thanks for sharing your story.

Understand completely!! We have been making cherished memories with DVC (OKW) since 1993!

Wishing you and your family the best as you go forward. So Glad that things are looking up for you. And I couldn't agree with you more about DVC. Here's a little pixiedust: to take with you. :thumbsup2

Congratulations! Gld you will still enjoy your "home" for many years to come!

Thank you for sharing. I bet many had a similar story but not the courage to share and give others hope that are facing a similar issue. Great for you.

Glad that you were able to keep your DVC. Thank you for sharing your story. Disney is truly a magical place to make memories with your family. We treasure every trip with ours.

We bought in 2006 during good times and paid cash for our little contract. I lost my job in 2007 and money was tight. We were able to drive to WDW. DVC made it possible for us to go on fantastic vacations during lean times.

So glad you made it through and didn't have to sell! I feel the same about our DVC. It is not just a timeshare, it is our family time that we all enjoy together and cannot place a dollar amount on :goodvibes

So so glad it all worked out for you. We also love our DVC I too think it ties us into our memories of when our kids were little and it forces us to make the effort to go on holidays

Due to my job relocating us geographically our life is mad at the moment and I mean really mad. It would be so easy to just not go on holiday ana work through it but because we have our DVC we. Have to go next year which forces us to plan a good family break in.

I'd hate to be without my DVC and I'd be like you is protect it as long as I could in difficult circumstances

Glad you were persistent and that it worked out for you! I know we would have a hard time giving up our DVC as well. :thumbsup2

I love this post :) We bought with straight cash, so it is a little different, but not very because my biggest driver was to 'bank' vacations for the family for the foreseeable future at the cost of the MFs. My dad lost his job and one of my first thoughts was 'thank goodness we have DVC in case that happens to DH or I'... we can keep on keeping on and take a less expensive trip there. But that haven of family fun is protected! Sure, in a terrible spot selling would be tempting, but it is the last thing I'd let go as well--I think of it as our vacation 401K/pension ;)
