A little reassurance about house rentals

I'm just about to book a three night stay in what looks like a very lovely home in Windsor Palms for a steal. However, my husband (who will not be on the trip with us) thinks I should be wary. He thinks it's dangerous to show up somewhere and have no recourse in case it's not very nice. He also can't figure out why it's so cheap.

Ultimately, he doesn't care as long as I'm fine with the decision. Am I fine with the decision?

I agree with the above post "how cheap is cheap"from what I have read abt WP it is a great place to rent. You can check out www.orlandovillas.com the have a forum of their own and the members are very helpful. Go to the villa communities.

I just rented in Windsor Hills and was super nervous about sending money off over the internet. I spent hours one night researching tax records to see that the person renting to me actually owned the home. I was able to find mortgage records, tax records & that all was up top date.

I am overly nervous though, so lol, I am sure you will be fine! Be sure to review the place after, so we all can be less nervous next time!

It was a last minute deal for a 4 bd townhouse (no pool) for 89/night + cleaning fee. We're going in two weeks and had been planning to stay at the Residence Inn LBV, but I saw that house rentals could be about the same price for much more room.

Anyway, I feel very comfortable with the decision, there's loads of positive reviews of this particular unit. I was just having a moment of husband induced paranoia!

The vast vast majority of these go off without a hitch. For the post-Easter period (starting after Monday the 12th), $90/night doesn't sound irrationally low. That's a slower time of year for Disney and Florida generally. Folks up north no longer need to escape the cold (so no snowbirds) but the kids are still in school. There are a few spring break stragglers, but not many.
