Why can I never get in the Broadwalk Villas? Everytime I go I can never get in there. I own at SSR and SSR is great when I have my kids with me, but my wife and I want to go by ourselves and would love to be at the Broadwalk? we want a studio and they don;t have any, it is absolutely frustrating:headache:

We are going May 26th thru May 29th

Thanks for listening

Are you just making reservations now? That's only four months out.

Boardwalk is a fairly small resort - bigger than BCV or VWL, but not close to the size of SSR. And its a popular resort that a lot of people want to stay at. Your best best for staying there is to plan to make reservations as soon as the seven month window opens up - and choose a time of year when there is likely to be availability (i.e. I wouldn't hope for New Years Eve). Lots of people have success at seven months, far fewer at four months.

Remember that DVC resorts pretty much are designed to run at capacity - that means the closer you get to your travel date, the less likely you are to have choices.

I don't own at BWV either and I love staying there. However, whenever I try reserving at 7 months, I can almost always get in there. Are you just trying now for May?

I would agree with the previous posters, basically you are waiting too long to try and get into a popular resort. You need to call sooner than 3 months out for BW.

I called exactly at the 7-month point and was able to get two weekend nights at a BWV boardwalk-view studio for May of this year.

I'm pretty sure you could have gotten in at 6 or 7 months. Did you go on a waitlist? Either day by day, if you have enough points to keep both ressies going, or for the whole time? You may get lucky, I hope so.

Unless you're trying to book an extremely popular time (i.e Thanksgiving, Christmas, NYE, F&W) I would think/hope that calling at the 7 month mark would get you something at BWV. Why not waitlist for it anyway?? Something could open up by May.

I actually own at the BWV and at times have problems even at the 11 month window of getting what I really want, so this is really funny what happened this time....In January I decided to take an adult break (kids are in college now anyway) and book 2/6 - 2/10. I wanted a 2BR for our friends coming from South Florida, I called was able of course to get a 2BR no problem at SSR and I waitlisted at BW one week later we got it a 2BR so don't give up it is the first time in 12 years we ever got that lucky....Try the waitlist!!!

I haven't tried getting BWV, but I was able to get VWL by waitlisting 5 months out for May(took about 4 weeks to come through).

Got a 2br at BCV right at the 7 month mark for MLK weekend(checked in Thursday-out on Monday).

I own at SSR and AKV, this past trip was my first try at BWV and was able to get the 4 nights standard view in a studio at 7 months. When I ended up with extra points I was able to wait list a month out and got the bump to preferred. It's worth it to waitlist and have a back up reservation somewhere else.

To All that replied. yes I am trying now for May, but have tried in the past for Boardwalk and could never got it. 1st week in December, 2nd week in november, 2 week oh Jan and never got it just must be my luck. I also have waitlisted before and never got it. Gotten other places no problem though AKLV, VWL, OKW, SSR never any problems always the broadwalk

We refer to that as "flying with a net", I really wouldn't try a waitlist without a backup. Then it's just fun to watch if you get your waitlist, not wondering if you have a place to stay.

Those are all prime Boardwalk times, the times the owners tend to book the resort pretty full before the seven month window opens. Late January opens up - but between the first and the Marathon the resort is very popular. Lots of us own specifically for the advantage in booking F&W or early December. Try Spring and Summer, but don't wait until four months out.

I am starting to think the developer points that have been included as purchase incentives are really having an affect on availability. Today, two people said they were having a hard time getting into Vero Beach, even within the 7 mos. mark. This resort has never had a booking issue in the past. If these developer points continue to be offered as sales incentives with the newer resorts as well, this may be a problem for the next 2-3 yrs.

I was sick of dealing with the 7 month window hoping to get a room at BWV, so we did small add-on 2 weeks ago :)

We've had no problem getting BWV at 7 months.

We've been lucky enough to get BWV twice now at the 7 month window - both times for early August, and both times with a preferred view. We are currently on the waitlist for a BW view room (studio)....so here's hoping!:goodvibes

I called 3 weeks ago to try to extend our spring break trip. I got a studio at BWV, preferred view, for the 2 nights that I wanted. Our trip is March 7th so I made the ressie about 8 weeks before our check-in date. We are thrilled!

I have to agree with you. When I called at the beginning of October for Vero, MS told me just about all of April was already almost full. I was lucky and got the ressie I wanted, except for one night (a Monday, oddly enough). Been waitlisted ever since, and I really doubt that night is going to come through. Backed up with a cash ressie. I do think the developer's points have definitely had an impact on reservations.
