A Little OT: What beach is best for family?

Hi! We're going to DL next Sunday.... til Thurs. Now I have decided that I would like for us to go to a beach on Thurs. and just play and have fun w/ the kids. Then find a hotel for the night. Can anyone tell me the best family beach that isn't too far from DL???? We are driving from AZ so it's not really that important for it to be that close. Plus, any hotels you would recommend?? Nothing fancy.
