A friend is in town and wants to meet at a seafood place. We actually only have 2 of us who will even eat seafood and when I mentioned someplace like Rainforest he said that was "too Disney."

ARGH!

Where is a place nearby that will serve seafood but also other options so the rest of the family can eat?

Thanks,

Dawn

If you want to stay on property for good seafood, i would recommend Todd English's bluezoo over at the Dolphin. This is not "too Disney" and is excellent food. Narcoossee's at the GF runs the risk of being a little "too disney" for your friend since it has views of the castle, but it also has great food and a great steak for those non-seafood eaters. You could also consider Flying Fish on the boardwalk. I am not too familiar with that many restaurants around the area -hopefully someone else will chime in there.

There are a couple of seafood buffets near Disney, but the food is not particularly appealing except to get King Crab Legs, which are about the same no matter where you go.

I understand not wanting to go to Rainforest Cafe, but unfortunately you will waste time and money and probably eat worse food going to the places near Disney. The best close food options are all within WDW.

Maybe somebody on this board can recommend a particular seafood/ fish item on Disney property rather than an entire restaurant devoted to seafood.

I've had the seafood b'stilla ( a kind of pie) at Morocco in WS, and I think it's pretty darn good - I have access to very good Moroccan food where I live, and I recommend it without hesitation. I also recommend the lamb shank at Morocco. Kebabs there are only ok at best, a bit dry. This is too big an operation for good kebabs, which are more of a street food that should always be cooked to order.

What about downtown Disney? Fulton's or Portabello's. We have always enjoyed Fulton's never tried the other. I beleive Fulton's has a steak my younger son did not like seafood at first. Now he loves it.

Thanks. He seems adament about not eating on property at all. Believe me, you are speaking to the choir here....we only come here for Disney. I may just call it off completely. This is just silly.

He is here from out of town and so are we so finding a place is not easy when neither of us is from here.

Since you are looking for a place off property, moved you over to the Orlando board for more ideas

good luck!
