This was our first DCL trip and my first ever cruise. We booked this trip 5 days before the boat left. Being presidents week we had no clue what to expect. We had not looked at any bb's and all we had to go on was word of mouth about DCL.
We had Room 2516 Aft section starboard side ... room was nice only had 2 problems A/C was lacking to non existant and the closet door was too loose to handle the mild rough see we hit on the way back to Port.
Dinners APT second seating: Not a great time for a family with a 2yr old and a 3 year old but we managed. Romy was our main waiter and he was fantastic he helped keep the kids occupied and just the mention that something was good and you found a second helping in front of you. He made the dinners fun and we managed to sneak into at least one early seating and he made sure he took care of us.
Ports: Nassau does nothing for me so we did not spend much time off he boat here
Castaway Cay could be a great place if the 2yr old was a bit older but overall the kids had fun
Overall impression
I enjoyed the family time and the time without the kids after spending so many years going many times a year to the parks it was a nice change of pace. We liked the contained disney magic that is present on the ships and even though presidents week is a full ship it did not seem too crowded such as years we have been in the MK and they have closed the gates.
Being this was my first crusie ( my wife is an experienced cruiser) I can say that I enjoyed it. That being said we decided to try the 7 day Eastern Next Feb. 19-25.
We shall see how that goes
My rating
A for service
B+ for stateroom with only 2 minor glitches
B+ for food ( hey we eat at victoria and alberts every year ) but the food was real good
A+ for dining staff
A+ for entertainment
