A little help with team building....

Hi All!

Each year I plan a team building/ice breaker for my team. (Picture 10 principals/superintendents) and I am beginning to come up dry.

I would love to know of any great ideas you have either done or participated in when working with a staff or larger group of people.

You may have heard of this one before, but DW did this at her school a few years ago: Each person wrote down 2 "truths" and 1 "lie" about him/herself. As each person read his/her list of three things, the others had to guess which was the lie. She said there was a lot of laughing and sharing.

We do a lot of these types of things at my workplace and the latest is assembling bikes together. We are a competitive group and the twist is that either not all parts will be there or too many parts, improper tools, tools missing, etc... It will be an interesting exercise to bring home the point that when we are working as a team, even side by side teams, it means we help each other. The intro to the session will refer in no way to it being a contest between groups but it's only logical that groups will be naturally competitve. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The bikes will be donated afterwards.

I work for a conference center and some groups set up team building after reilty shows and we set up iron chef events. They compete against each other making the dish the chef showed them how to make. But dont know if you be bale to get a kitchen with food. One group theme the meeting as the world cup and they made specail team jersy with the company names and played min soccer games and yes they did make time to meet even thought they all wanted to just play soccer.
