A little heads up Kidani location requests

A while back I had a thread asking for advice on room location for our Kidani trip, I decided on "Sunset Savanna view, near pool ."
When I called to make my request all seemed well. Yesterday, while checking my reservation on line I saw that my requests read "Sunset Savanna view, pool view"
Well, I know that those two requests are mutually exclusive and I know I do want Sunset Savanna view and not pool view. So I called and was told that they have request choices they can select from and "near pool" is not one of them so the first person I spoke to just chose "pool view" instead. I had that removed and asked if there was any way to have "near pool" added. The CM I spoke to seemed doubtful, but after awhile said she typed it in but said she wasn't sure if anyone would see it. I looked on line today and it still says "sunset savanna" and that's it. Since that is the most important to me, I'll leave well enough alone. It would have been nice to have the request of being near the pool, I'll ask at check in but I know that then the chances are slim.
SO, not sure this is the way it is going at each resort, or if anyone else has encountered this (I've noticed on line the choices are set, but this is the first time I've had it happen with member services) But is seems that if you have a request that is not "on the list" it may be harder to let that request be known.

My understanding is that the requests that are "free-typed" do not show on the website, but the room assigners can see them (if they look).

The same thing happened to me the last time I booked Kidani. I asked for "lower floor" and the MS CM said that that choice was not on the list. I was told that "upper floor" is on the list but not "lower floor". She said she would type it in and hope that someone noticed it. The odd thing is when I clicked on the link in my confirmation email I noticed this:

RESORT Information:
Guest requests 2nd Floor
Ground floor requested - Not guaranteed

First I was surprised that what she had typed in appeared in my reservation information and second it appears that "Ground floor" is on the list so there was no need for the MS CM to type in anything special.

When we checked in, a very sweet young lady at the front desk looked into her monitor and said "I see you requested a lower floor but they have put you on the top floor. Let me see what I can do." I told her Sunset Savanna was the most important thing to us but we would prefer a low floor no matter how far it was from the lobby. She went into the back room and came back with a new room assignment for us on the second floor, half way down the south wing. So while it appears that neither the typed request nor the one from the list had any effect, the front desk CM was able to give us what we requested.

I hope that is true that at least it is possible for them to see them.

She went into the back room and came back with a new room assignment for us on the second floor, half way down the south wing. So while it appears that neither the typed request nor the one from the list had any effect, the front desk CM was able to give us what we requested.

That gives me some hope. Thanks for sharing yous experience.

We requested top floor, Sunset Savannah and that's exactly what we got - loved it!. What we didn't request was 'near lobby' but we got that, and that is what you should request instead of 'near pool', since the lobby is very close (right across from) the pool. Maybe putting the word 'pool' gets confused with view, so 'near lobby' would be exactly what you need to ask. In my opinion, having the top floor was amazing as we were on the north side, and could see the entire savannah, plus Wishes and Illuminations over the roof top every night that we were 'home'.
